Pressure washers

If your going to use a gas pressure washer go to your local professional pressure washing store and ask for a fan tip. (the big box stores don't carry them) This is a tip pro's use for rinsing. Almost impossible to damage anything.

Hey thanks for the "tip" um going to check that out!

Not to hijack but could you post some more info on a "fan tip" maybe a photo or brand or? I'm googling but coming up with a lot of turbo concrete nozzles... :s
Thanks

Tips? Listen to what I am telling you very carefully,
the 5 Digit number on the tips that come with the washer You have already. The last two numbers of those 5 digits, are the numbers of gallons that washer put out a minute.. they have to be the same as the ones that you buy. if you go smaller, you will loose pressure.
The best thing you can do is to contact the manufacturer and get your tips from them. that way you will always have the right ones.

Did you just post to vent your daily frustration? My question was answered with a pm thanks... My pressure washer is capable of 3000psi 2.7gpm... More or less enough to rip the paint right off the metal.... I placed an order on one of these rinse tips that were mentioned before and has to do with the degree of angle as well as a reed to disperse the pressure even more without sacrificing full gpm loss thanks.

I have a 1.5 gpm 1800psi electric washer with a 40 degree tip I have been using for rinse off. Is that enough to do any damage?

Not likely, but it's always possible with a pressure washer. Especially on plastic painted parts, as I believe it is from the paint not sticking to plastic as well as it does to metals. Always use care and don't get too close.

I apologize if it seems if I was venting. Maybe I was and didn't realize it,
Had a few issues with pressure and called the man that I bought the machine from (with his 30 years of experience) didnt have a clue as to what the problem was/is. Found out that the tip was the problem it was to small for my machine...

Again I apologize

Cathy you are absolutely correct that the tips must match the GPM of your machine. Knowing that information you can buy your tips from anywhere, but for specialty tips you need to go to a pressure washing equipment store. Most online stores dont even handle the specialty tips.
