Prestige Auto Detailing: 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Well, today is my next project. A 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This vehicle is really not driven down here in the Valley. They trailer it all over the US behind their Bus. Kinda like the one on Extreme Make-Over. When it’s down here, It site out on their drive way behind the house. Plenty of trees to mess it up.

Today, Saturday, I will work on the interior. I will use my steamer and Megs APC1. I do not think I will be using anything else. We will just have to see.

On Sunday, I will do a 2 step on the exterior. I will use the Megs 105 & 205. Not sure what else yet as well. I know I will remove all the Megs with Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer. That way, it saves me a great deal of time. Before I wash & buff it, I will detail the engine with Amazing Roll-Off and Stoners More Shine.

I will keep you posted and enjoy the before pics.

Well, here is how the engine looked after its detailing as well. I noticed I missed a few spots. That is whats hard when you detail vehicles where sun is not hitting anything. I will correct those in the morning when I detail the exterior.

The owner is already very impressed with the interior. Especially the engine bay. I will be doing another one of his vehicles next week. A Mercedes Benz of course. LOL

My steamer did that. I did not attach the part for making strips since time was running out. I still have the Jeep in front of the house. I might do it tomorrow if time allows.

That is how bad the whole Jeep looked this morning. I did not take any pics of it before I drove it into town to a power washer where I cold take all the crap off. Still has some of it on the Jeep/

Just washing this Jeep is going to be a PITA!!!! It has taken me over 30 minutes cleaning the door jams. Leaves and mud everywhere. After I've completed the exterior, I will have to go back inside and touch up some places where leaves and dirt hit. Good thing my client is paying me some good money. His next vehicle will be a early '90s Mercedes-Benz 500SL Roadster Convertible. It has not been on the road for a while. Has dust all over it. oh boy. lol

WOW. I'm STILL not finished. That Jeep is always being towed across the US since they are retired. There is tar, sap and what ever you can think about. lol Dirt/Sand still coming out from places. They have not had this thing wash in well over a year.

Monday, It will be compound day. I showed him the Jeep just a moment ago. I advised him that I was not going to mess with the front bumper since it has plenty of rock trips from being pulled behind his bus. His is still very impressed with how it looks.

So is the owner. LOL He did not think it was his Jeep when he saw it in front of our house. He lives just across the street. LOL

Detailing that Jeep was a MAJOR PITA. It has never been taken care of since it's always pulled along behind their luxury Living Bus (what ever you want to call those Extreem Make-Over Home Edition buses. he he he) It has so many chips in the paint and head lights that I really did not mess with them. Owner knew it.

Great job. The GC has a ton of nooks and crannies that are hard to clean. The entire rear hatch and all the door jambs hold so much crap.

Thanks. That GC had stuff everywhere. I just hope they can keep ot clean for a while. I can always spy on it since they live right across the street. lol

1) I did not use the steamer on the engine. Just sprayed Amazing Roll-Off and dressed it with Stoner's More Shine.

2) I used the steamer on everything inside the Jeep. In the areas where I needed something, I used Megs APC+. I dressed the leather with Optimum Leather Protectant. I do not feel that I need to use the steamer on engines. If I have to, I can imagine it would be on exotic vehicles like Porsche or something.
