Prestige Auto Detailing - 2005 Lexus RX 330

SRHTX, nice work on that Lexus. Glad to hear you are getting a lot more business coming your way. That steamer gives great results !!!!

Thanks. When I detail the interior of anyones vehicle, I will use the steamer. The Steamer cleans just about anything and cleans the interior quickly. Just keep an APC with ya.

What happened to the floor mats!? That looks like some hardcore discoloration!

Good turnaround, though!

You should do a write-up of your technique with the steamer. I'm definitely interested in reading more.

In the photos it appears the carpet floor mats have clear, discolored plastic protective covers on top.

And it looks like the clear plastic was re-installed over mats that were still damp, judging from the condensate forming in some of the after pics. Perhaps use of the extractor to remove the moisture in the future would help alleviate the issue?

Bingo. She had just contacted me saying she needed to go by my place and get the Lexus. I had just finished steaming the carpet and mats, so, when I put the plastics clear mats on top of the warn and damp floor mats, it was the heat.

btw - I love your BMWs.

Thanks-- they're fun when enjoyed.

Definitely like the older ones more than the newer cars! My '01 is a nice car and daily driver, but the older BMWs are still more fun to drive. Too bad there aren't fun, twisty roads around here!

Yeah, I figured that is what happened with the mats. If it's humid, stuff takes forever to dry! I cleaned my parent's car out once years ago with a plastic trunk liner and the carpets must not have dried totally, causing a funky odor after several days in the hot sun. Luckily just removing the liner and letting the carpets dry completely was all that was necessary.
