Booooo..
Well, my swirls were really getting to me on my Obsidian Black Pearl Subaru paint. Rather than driving to my brother's to use his garage, I polished my hood outside.
Steps taken:
- Washed
- Clayed
- Griot's Garage Polisher using 5.5" orange pad and Menz PF2500
The hood is aftermarket paint if that's worth noting.
Basically now I have a one inch dash right in a body line on the hood. I've buffed my hood before with no problems until today.
Is it possible the black paint mixed with sunlight heat allowed the polisher to overheat the paint there and burn? I'll try to snap a picture tomorrow when I have daylight again.
Thanks in advance guys. Just trying to figure out what went wrong here. I was under the impression that these polishers can't burn paint.
