Def find a low volume/high end detailer (And ask tons of questions about what machines/products/methods he uses) or let someone on the forum do it.
I used to bring my car to a shop like that before I knew anything about detailing and I believe they used wool pads/rotary and butchered my clear coat. Now my PTG is giving me scary readings.
When I got my RX-7 I was having serious medical issues and also wanted it Opti-Guarded but was afraid of doing it my self and could not physically do it at the time. I also wanted a 3 step polish but I was timid about doing it.
I called many detailers, and most I could just tell by their voice and tone that they would not be a good choice. Finally I found a part time detailer who only does a few cars a week. I grilled him on on all of his products/machines/techniques/past experiece etc over the course of several phone calls and tons of emails and met him in person before any work was done. He was always willing and more than happy to answer my many questions. He was educated, friendly and knew his stuff. Car turned out great!
Now I have recovered from my medical issue and learned alot more thanks to this site, and now do two step polishes and Opti-Coat 2.0 application myself. But in a pinch I was glad I found someone who was as careful and attention detailed as myself that took good care of my car just like I would have done.
Good luck and BTW if they do not have the time to answer your questions or are gruff with you over the phone, don't even think about bringing your car there! Do expect to pay a good bit of money for a 3 step with a reputable dealer. You will most likely exceed that 350 number with just the exterior.
