Pricing of correction

yes i would. between $30-$37.5 an hour for paint correction seems very fair.

also, keep in mind this is a part time thing for me. so im not begging for business either. i only have one day a week that i have time to detail

I'm the same way man. If I get involved in a 3 step. It gets up there. For a sedan...I usually start at around $250-$300 for a 3-step. If I have to wet sand, or do touchup it just goes up and up.

My reason for that is basically the same as yours. I'm too busy to not get compensated for my time. :xyxthumbs:

I totally understand charging $300 for a sedan if thats where you start..... just wondering why you would charge 300 for an Excursion AND 300 for a sedan - more why I was asking.... I would never charge the same for a sedan and something as large as an excursion...... there would be about a 100 dollar difference for me personally, that's where I got confused.

Oh, i definately see your point now...

First time doing a correction for one. I was juggling starting at $300 around in my head. After doing the tank, that number was confirmed. In the future, i would probably charge between $350-$400 on an identical job.

Also, this gentleman is a repeat customer, with alot of vehicles in his personal "fleet" so i didnt mind lowballing it for him. He already want me to do a clay/wax job on one of his Mercedes. im just waiting to find the time and then i will call him up.

hopefully this explains it :props:

thanks for asking

Ah - makes much better sense..... I think I saw the Excursion in the Show N Shine.... Nice work Man!:dblthumb2:

$150 seems too low for a paint correction. i charge that for interior/exterior wash clay and wax. paint corrections start at $300 for me.

i did a Ford Excursion the other week and charged $300. could have charged more, but i think it was far for my first paint correction. i now know to start at $300 on this kinda work.

of course it all depends on your location too:props:

That is so cheap cheap cheap...i did a swirled up and scratched up infiniti G37. I did it with paint chip repair over 2 dozen of them i charged $650...well ofcourse quaility work and time has to put into it i put over 2 days in it. So there is an intensive labour that is put forth into that project.

How my detailing packages are like this: I let the customer choose what they wanna do, for each option there is a reasonable price for it and i will have fine letterings at the bottom of my ad stating that price varies upon cars.

Just like a cell phone plan, you start from the basic and add call display, data, voice mail...blah blah blah...and it adds up so at the end if the customer is nice i will ring up a 10 - 20% discount depending on the size and duration of the project.

My packages starts at as low as $129 for AIO polish, clay, vaccum, rims all that jazz, and 3 step polish and preimum wax goes on the option lists.
