I was asked to detail this Ferrari 458 Italia. The car has had some bodywork repairs to the front end and I was asked to perfect the paintwork on the whole car and refinish the areas which were worked on. This is how the car was when i arrived:

The car was deconaminated and then inspected:

Swirls:

Paint depth readings:

Correction was done using Scholls Concepts compound and Meguiars MF system...achieving results like this:

The paintwork was fully wiped down with panel wipe and then protected with Gtechniq C2v3...the end results looked like this:

The alloys, paintwork, glass and trim was all protected with the Gtechniq C2v3, the exhausts treated to Gtechniq M1 and tyres dressed with Gtechniq T1.

A beading pic:

and here is a video of the detail with a walk around showing the true depth to the paint:

Fully agree with davey g-force beauiful car, and great work you did on that Italian masterpiece

Beautiful work, and a beautiful car. Don't like the black wheels on it though.

So what is C2V3? Is this another "special coating", that the comman man cannot get his/her hands on?
Do we need the "secret decoder ring" to get such?
Mark

Its a spray sealant, nothing like C1 or Exo but with expected 6 months durability. Not sure about there, but very easy to get here.

This is their "Liquid Crystal" product then? Sorry if I sounded sarcastic, seems with many top flight coatings, you need certification to get.

I really have great interest in trying some Gtehcniq products again, but I am a little afraid, as I once seemed to have difficulty, and issues using C4.

Why, I don't honestly know, perhaps a lack of experience, first getting my toes wet with a coating.

Would like trying the C1 and EXO, besides a couple others they make.

WOW! Absolutely stunning work and when it's on a Ferrari it seems to stand out even more! These coatings have come a long way and are now almost as easy to use as some of the clear sealants available.....:props:

Now what time should I expect you to drop my car off?

I like C1 and Exo combination together, best of both worlds with the hardness of the C1 and the hydrophobic properties in Exo its a good level of protection. The reason I didnt opt for that on this Ferrari.....Well put simply, the customer didnt pay for it.

Im a bit of a hit and miss with Gtechniq products, its like a love/hate relationship, once they were consider as some of the best in coatings out there (that could also be down to excellent marketing), but i think personally i would like to try Modesta, but the cost is very high compared to other brands out there.

One acquaintance of mine in one of the audio forums has a 458 in the same color, besides a slew of other world class sports cars. He tells me he's been addicted to WG Fuzion lately.

I would imagine if I was in his shoes, I'd probably be the same way, not wanting to seal-coat such a car, I'd probably be touching it every day, and I reckon that's one joy of using Carnaubas.
