I believe they are on BOGO because there are new versions out and AG is clearing out their stock of the previous version.

Between this thread and that pad cleaner aquatic species experiment I'm getting depressed about the possibility my extensive flavor-of-the-month collection from 2004-2006 is going to wind up in the trash...this thread reminded me to go down and shake some of it last night...my Meg's 80-series polishes sounded a little more watery than I remembered them...

My pad cleaner was just old and I wanted to post pictures because it was pretty crazy. I wanted NOTHING in compensation what so ever! Autogeek being as classy as they are made the decision to look after me. I have some products that are WAY older than that was and they still look and work fine. I wouldn't be to concerned especially if they are stored properly.

I have the rice pudding optimum finish on my shelf right now. I took the cap off of the original bottle and decanted about 4 ounces into a clear yorker bottle so that I could shake the heck out of it and see if the shaking would do any good. I shook it like I never shook anything else and it does not go back to a creamy or smooth consistency. I tried using it just to see if I should keep it or throw it out and it still seems seems to work fine. I don't think I'll be purchasing any of Optimum's "older formula" products into the future.

I purchased the Optimum Compound that I made a video of in this thread http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/29078-there-something-wrong-here.html back when Dwayne was still with AG. Once I was able to speak with Dwayne about it, he replaced it with a quart of Menzerna Power Gloss and he took care of the shipping cost as well. I think the reasoning behind Dwayne's decision to send a quart of Menzerna was that I was a bit upset about not being able to reach anyone regarding this issue. I purchased the Compound right around the time that the spray compound was coming out and I do believe that the Compound was discounted for clearance purposes but it wasn't on BOGO.

I've come to the conclusion that I'll just steer clear of any Optimum products that are either on BOGO or are listed as "old formula". This way I get what I need, when I need it and in a useable condition so that I can use it when I need to use it. I think being frugal when buying certain detailing products (BOGO) is a crap shoot as you just never know what you're going to get.

While Dwayne and AG took good care of me on any and every issue like this, it's still a pain in the neck having to wait for good products when things go wrong. With threads like this one, "we who read them" can make an informed decision on what to buy and what not to buy.

Just my 2 cents.

Just like you always do, you hit the head on the nail with this one. AG has already taken care of it, but I will no longer buy old formulas. Dave, Thanks again!!

thanks for this post i was about to order these products and they were sold out when i went to place order...might have been a blessing in disguise! glad autogeek takes care of its customers however!

:iagree:

I just picked up my order today and the Compound II I got on bogo was fine. Creamy and smooth like melted jamoca almond fudge, sans the almonds...

There was no issue with the Compound 2, just the Finishing Glaze and Polish 2.

Did anyone who ordered the old version of OPC when it was BOGO have any problems?

I got some of the old BOGO OPC ( 16 oz) from Autopia-car-care and it is fine.

Nope. It wasn't on BOGO because it was bad. It was on BOGO because there was a new formula that had just came out and AG didn't want the old formula to go to waste. So they sold it out. FAST.

Not to be a jerk but why do so many people that have a problem with an order or product choose to post it on the forum? Seriously, call / email them and they take care of it. It's that simple.

So I placed an order last week for the Optimum Compound 2, Polish 2 and Finishing Polish, but there seems to be an issue..

The issue is with all three products, but we will start with one.

After Opening the Box from AG....

Compound 2 is suppose to be white, at least that was what my last bottle of Compound 2 looks like. It is like a Gold Color Now???? The compound 2 that came in the box was gold.

Polish 2 looks as if something watered it down heavily. The viscosity is real thin and extremely watery, which is not how my other Polish 2 is like.

Finishing Polish looks chunky and grainy, as well as is a different shade of blue then my last Finishing Polish by optimum.

What's up with this???? I have never had an issue with them before.....anyone else have the same issue from the BOGO???

In my opinion I would have definitely contacted autogeek before posting up here....why don't you give the company you're doing business with a chance to answer your questions/concerns before complaining on a public forum?

Just my .02
