So I filled in some chips two days ago. And I forgot to buff off the excess sealact solution after rubbing away the excess paint. Now I have hazy patches all over.

I left it sit for two days to let the paint dry and I tried removing it today and it was a bear. I used a microfiber wash mit and I had to wash the panel 3 times and spray it with OPC 2-3 times as well. This stuff drys like concrete..

So I got most of it off, and now I noticed Some excess paint still remains and has dried to the surface. Would 2000grit sand paper be sufficient to remove the excess paint not buffed off around the paint chips?

I am a tad frustrated by this situation so I am curious about some feedback.
 
I have some experience with this product.

I did the same thing on a blue car so it wasn't as noticeable.

Anyways, what I did was sand it with a tiny piece of 3000 grit sandpaper and then compound the entire surrounding area until it levels out nicely. Be careful when you sand though, if you use too much pressure it will pull the paint from the chip right off!

Gently sand it, buff to a shine and I think you'll be ok.
 
Im not sure how much paint you have to get off, but have you tried a stout CB?

Its not very much paint. Not a blob or anything. Just very tiny streaks where I didnt fully rub it away. Most people wouldnt notice, but I do, and I need it gone before I opti-coat.

What is a CB?
 
CB = claybar?

how about more of the sealact solution? Didn't help?

Claybar could work. I'll give it a shot.

I tried using more sealact on the dried paint and it removed a little. But I was using much more pressure than I felt comfortable using.

I'll report back in 10 minutes.
 
whatever you do don't try IPA, that will probably dissolve the paint that's in your chip and you'll have to start all over...
 
The claybar worked okay. I feel like on the spots I tried it, it removed most if not all.

Maybe its just me being really anal, but it still looks like some paint still remains, its really hard to see because its really cloudy and I cannot see the paint unless I can get it to reflect light.
