Hello all,

Time of the year (Birthday) and am looking to add some products to complement what I already have courtesy of the wifey. I'm not a professional, in fact I've just started detailing my own car and am hooked due the semi decent results :hungry:

Currently my process is below:
Porter Cable Orange Pad with Menzerna PO83.
Porter Cable White Pad with Klasse AIO.
Porter Cable Black Pad with Klasse SG.

My car is an 06 325i Jet Black BMW, a PITA to maintain and it does not help that I bought it used. Tons of scratches on the paint.

What I'm needing is to see if there are products that I can add to my current process or if it is better to go with a different product selection based on your guys' experience.

Aside from that, I am needing to stock up on more Microfiber towel and pads, any recommendations? I strictly buy gear from Autogeek so please feel free to send me a direct link. Finally, advice on window/glass cleaner and interior air fresheners?

Thank you in advance.

Seems like some Pinnacle, Blackfire, or Wolfgang would be the next choice. Add in some waxes or sealants and perhaps some spray products and dressings. It will work with your polishes.

Always visit the BOGO section also, great way to add to a collection and save some $$ in the process.

lol, pic of the car or pic of the gear?

The car is below. That was after my rookie attempt at detailing. Fortunately it was still night and day compared to how she was prior to my first attempt. Also, first time claying, used Mother's with it's quick detailer spray. Any recommendation for a replacement or is that setup fine?

Sorry for all of the 101 questions. I've been reading but it just confuses more with all of the awesome selection of products available, haha.

Any particular product that you have in mind? I will check those 3 brands out. I wanted to try the Pinnacle twins but it looks to do the same job as the Menzerna PO83. Also, I've read correctly, after my last coat of Klasse SG, I can top it off with my choice of wax, is that correct? I want it to be slipper shiny, haha.

as someone who is on their 3rd Jet Black BMW, buy some PoorBoys Black Hole Show Glaze. also a good sealant, and plenty of pads, working clean is a huge deal on a car with that soft of paint.

Thanks Ryance39! Mind sharing me your exact combo? Which sealant and pads?

Any thoughts about clay and paint prep?
Working with a Montego Blue 328 and a Sapphire Black X3 I have found that P21S Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser has been a great base for whatever LSP you decide on following a clay bar clean up when needed. The P21S leaves a nice shine and really holds on to whatever LSP applied. The Klasse HGSG is my go to sealant is it stands up well to winter snow, ice and salt. Looks like you have chosen a good product set to maintain a nice finish. Lot of work but fun as well when it all comes together.

Thanks Siberianrunner. I have added P21S Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser to my buy list. Given that I've already sealed it with Klasse HGSG, would I need to redo everything to before using the P21S?

Typically my steps are, wash (griots/ Meg's), clay (pinnacle), ssr2.5( orange LC pad on a Mikita), ssr1(white or green LC pad on GG6), then either poor boys ex-p (sealant) or DP poli seal.
For quick was and wax I'll go with wash, clay, black hole glaze (by hand!!!), then the poor boys ex-p.
The difficulty with the jet black BMW paint is that it is extremely soft! Even the GG6/black pad and a pure carnauba can cause holograms if your not careful. Pm me if you've got more questions.

P21S is a paint cleaner so it will remove everything you have done previously. So, yes, you would have to reapply the Klasse sealer. Looking at your pictures it appears you've done a fantastic job on this car already. Looks great!

yeah the car looks great. when i was asking for the pictures, was hoping to see the scratches you speak of... but the car looks great.

Thanks guys. Will place the order soon.
