Product Reccomendations (Honda Paint)

I just think this detail may take me all week with all these steps!

I'm no Rasky, but I just tried the new Menzerna Powerlock and absolutely love it. Other sealants I have tried/have experience with are Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant and Poorboy's EX-P. Powerlock is by far THE slickest IMO and WG is a close second. Poorboy's smells really good and actually gives the paint a deeper look. But that is just me.....
As far as a wax (and I know some won't like this) give DP MaxWax a try. It is cheap and looks AMAZING on flake and pearl paints. Just what I think. Try using the free samples thing to your advantage, try out whatever sealant they have...

Rasky what do you reccomend for a wax/sealent?

Blackfire Wet-Diamond is my favorite but I've used the new Power Lock sealant on a few cars now and I'd say they are very similar in looks, application, and slickness. ;)

awesome thanks everyone and thanks rasky, I will let you guys know how it goes later this month! Rasky do you apply by machine or hand the sealant?

Im trying to add some pads to my cart for my order this weekend and I guess the 5.5 flat are out of stock. I have the G110 polisher. which pads should I get? I decided I will try m105/m205. Suggestions?

typically how many pads would I use to do one car? If I clean the pad on the fly can I use the same pad for one step or do I need multiple?

I typically use one pad per step, unless a pad fails.

I figured it was probably one per step, also any suggestions on if I should prime the pad at all?

I like to prime by hand spreading the product over the entire pad evenly.

I will usually use 3-4 pads on the initail correction step, 2-3 per finishing step, and one for waxes and sealants.

As you go around the car they become saturated making them less effective. You can never have to many pads! :)

Another caution on the soft nature of Honda paint. I have a 2008 Accord with Royal Blue Pearl, I believe Honda's 2nd darkest color after Nighthawk Black Pearl. I completed a full correction recently using my G110v2, polishing pads and M205. A few days after the polishing, I started noticing faint holograms in the hood and door panels when the paint was refracted in direct sunlight. They weren't easy to see head-on, I had to offset my focus, but the holograms were definitely there.

Per the advice of Meguiars' Mike Stoops, I went back and repolished the paint, using M205 on a finishing pad and dialing down to setting 3 on my DA. The holograms became more uniform, running from left to right across my hood. Since I had been using overlapping, cross hatch passes, I changed my direction to run the length of the hood only, counter to the direction of the holograms, and used long slow sweeping passes.

I kept a very light pressure on the DA working the 205 until it became very light and filmy, and then used only the weight of the machine on the final two passes. The result was a nice flawless and hologram-free mirror finish.

Yikes, im afraid to even try the 105 now on the paint! Maybe it is too agressive!

I would never use it on a honda.Be easy even with your lsp if you are using a DA.I had holograms with my PC and poly seal after using it with a LC grey pad on a speed of 4.
