Product recommendation

i would always recommend opti coat and cquartz for sure, but not necessarily when working by hand. of course the paint needs to be perfect for these products to be their best.

i too would look to duragloss, sonax paint power cleaner and hybrid tech wax, or the barrett jackson line by farecla if working by hand.

Any close ups so we can see the condition of the paint?

Here's some closeups of the paint to show the condition. I'm not a photographer so bear with me. The last photo shows some water spots. I used a damp MF towel to wipe the dust off.

from THOSE pics it looks like megs 205 will do a great job of restoring clarity to the surface, making the flex POP even more. Just use light even pressure.

IT will easily remove light surface abrasions [especially if the DG dealership 'washed' aka marred the ever living ish outta the paint] and those 'water spots' - which apear to only be water from drying.... if you have an adequately large enough and absorbant MF for drying youll avoid those spots entirely

TO finish put an lsp [last stage product] synthetic or caranuba [maybe collinite 915] and u should be good to go... or if you dare do a sealant [e.g. Duragloss 105] THEN the 915 and whoooooooo baby it will shine and have depth!!!

I see some very light swirls and scratches nothing a fine finishing polish could handle. There are many to pick from
Meguiars M205
Menzerna SF4000
Menzerna PF2500 (a little more aggressive)
Optimum Finishing Polish
Poorboy's SSR1
BlackFire Scratch resistant Finishing polish

The water streaks can be removed by after drying hit your paint with a quick detailer or a spay wax and a soft plush Microfiber towel.

Hopefully it's left over residue,

Do as Evan.J suggested. Just make sure it is not not hot to the touch, prior before working on the set panel.
