Anyone have product recommendations for the black tape that surrounds windows on a lot of cars?

I want UV protection. 303 leaves it streaky.

I'm taking it you mean black trim, correct?

Some like 303, I never have.

Two tops in my book, Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant, which the folks here call "WETS", and Carpro CQuartz DLX.

That stuff is always tough. How about some Wolfgang External Trim Sealant (WETS)?

Yeah, the black trim. I think it's vinyl tape.

Looks like I'll try WETS.

Now that I think of it...I think WETS streaks on those surfaces too...seems to me things like Klasse AIO or Collinite 845 give it a more uniform appearance.

If the trim you're working on is in like new condition, I like to use Meguiars Synthetic Spray Wax D156/Ultimate Spray Wax.

Never have to worry about getting any greasy reside on the windows like alot of trim products will do in that area.

Are you asking about the black stripe that runs around the outer edge of the glass and it is on the glass when it is installed?
If so it is a special paint that improves adhesion of the glue used to install the glass windshield in a car. It is not a tape.

I thought he was talking about the matte black vinyl wrap that's used on so many Asian cars and I guess others on the window frames in the doors.

Oh I see what you mean now.. Yea that surface tends to be a bit finicky. I remember trying Megs Ultimate Black lotion when we 1st got the Kia and it did not take well on those pieces. Megs D156 works to protect it and doesn't leave any streaks.

The only drawback is I wish it would darken a tad bit more.

AIO's machined on those surfaces work for me. Every time.
