I have been using a cotton mitt for quite a while, and then decided to give Natural sea sponge a try. If you ever washed your car with it, you will recongnize it's plush texture that revals the softness of lambs wool.
Paring it up with Pinnacle Bodywork shampoo creates the ultimate washing for any enthusiast. It's very soft, holds a lot of wash solution. Be sure to rub it across grit guard when reaching for more solution to remove any dirt.

P.S. Now I use my cotton mitt more for heavier duty washing, like my dad's truck. Natural sea sponge is only washing my baby.
I absolutely love it! Highly recommended for any enthusiast!

I love my sheepskin mitts ... this sponge scares the bee-jesus out of me. Just one grit of sand, and swirls galore. Sea-sand-salt .... its just to much for me to bear.

You have to shower with them for 2 years prior to automotive use. They'll be just fine after that. :D

I rinsed mine well and it was fine. I always rinse it after and before use.

"I rinse brine..." Is that a Freudin negligee?

I have also found these sponges to be quite durable. Additionally, they seem to rinse free of dirt and grime much easier than do either sheepskin or cotton chenile. While I have to throw my sheepskin and chenile mitts/sponges in the wash on occasion, I've never had to wash any of my other sponges.

LOL After Katrina hit here there were sea sponges all over the road in the Keys that had been washed up. LOL

I use the sea sponge and have always on a dark blue vehicle and I am VERY happy with it, no need to be scared Killer!

My 5 year old uses a sea sponge, it' called Sponge Bob

I'm a big fan of sea sponges as well. After trying one out I don't see myself using anything else in the near future.

I use ine evry weekend with no problems. I always rinse before and after using and also use a pair of grit guards in bucket.

This is why i'm nervouse about the schmitt,I dunno if my car mars esay due to the products i use or soft clear coat..I can easily mar the paint with MFs... this is why sponges can't touch the surface of my vehicle..and they wont..Sheepskin all the way :D

I'm happy witht the sheepskin,I'm know my paint..i know what will work and what dosent..the schmitt probably will work very well with harder CCs = lessm arring.if its not broke why fix it..

i agree i loved my sheepskin

but i got tired of buying a new one every month becuase of it becoming knotted up and stinky (mold smell)

after seing justins review of the shmitt and how long it has lasted him i decided to give it a try, works the same as my sheepskin, just with out the replacing every month part

If you had to puchase a mitt every month it nay been the wat it was maintained.Go to DC a do a search on sheekskni mitts you''ll find many threads on then and mow to maintan'em.it the summer rinse the soap from mitt use your hand to ring out the water and then hang dry ..trywashing the mitt on delicate with very little woolite or micro detergent then dry on low hett. Remember its a 100% sheepskin at 1st iome of mine smelled like washing my car with a wet cat lol,but not all my itts are this way,i Have some great euro mitts too..
