Product Review: Optimum Opti Clean

Richy, check out post 29 of this thread. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/28895-review-optimum-opti-clean-3.html
It's the Q&A portion with Dr. G from when I reviewed this product. David answers this exact question.

Got it! I am duplicating it here (and in my usual font colour just to confuse things!!)

No Rinse used as a quick detailer works fine for a car with light dust while Opti-Clean can be used on a car with several days of build up. The reason is that Opti-Clean contains the same polymers in No Rinse that encapsulate dirt but at a much higher concentration than No Rinse QD as well as other polymers not used in No rinse that offer more lubricity and gloss.

So, a safer alternative due to the higher lubricity.

How is Opti Clean on Leather ?

Works great for dusting and light grime. Leaves some protection...but not a lot. You should follow with Protectant Plus for best results.

Bloody H E L L , I'm showing my blond roots again!! Yes, that was what I was thinking of, the Power Clean. Thanks for clarifying that...don't want to confuse anyone else!!

So, Chris, is it fair to say this is like ONR in a bottle, or is that an over-simplification??

See post #29 as Corey mentioned.

Nice catch, Corey!

Yes, but it's not just more product...it's actually formulated to work with very little water. You could not get the same results with ONR at comparable dilutions. ONR would streak like mad at 4:1.

Dude, you read my little blond mind! I was wondering about that. Thanks for clarifying it.

Rich I think we should blame it on Kryptonite! You aint no blonde when it comes to anything Detailing!

Ssssssooooooooooo I guess AG should change their website right?

Optimum Opti Clean Concentrate, Opticlean cleaner protectant, Optimum all purpose cleaner protectant
AG said:
Directions:

Dilute 1 part of Optimum Opti™Clean Concentrate with 3 parts water. Spray liberally on painted surfaces and wipe clean with a plush microfiber towel. Fold and use a new section of the towel as needed. For glass and interior surfaces, apply one or two sprays and wipe off with a clean, plush microfiber towel. For lower panels and wheels, spray liberally and let it soak for a few seconds and then wipe off. When there is heavy dirt build up, use Optimum No Rinse™.

Not following you? 3:1 is recommended but I use 4:1 because I'm stingy and it still works about the same with less chance of streaking. If you mean that ONR is recommended for dirtier cars...that is correct. Although Opti Clean is a higher concentration, it is intended as a waterless wash or a spray n wipe cleaner and a rinseless (ONR) can be used on anything except cakes on dirt. Ssssssssooo, AG's page is right, unless I missed what you are asking.

I must be misunderstanding and forgetting that ONR can be used as a mix with water in a wash bucket to clean the car.

So yes I misunderstood the question that Corey was asking Dr. G and Dr. G's answer; and misread AG/OPT's item description of both products.

Apologies and carry on.
