Warnings or Precautions:
  • Keep out of reach of Children
  • Harmful If Swallowed

Testing:
  • I first cleaned the seats of the 2 week old Optimum Protectant Plus using Meg’s APC @ 10:1 and then following it up with Ultima Interior Shampoo Gel. I usually use UIGP but wanted the OPP for some reason the last time.
  • I then ran a tape line down the half a seat and dash section.
  • I then applied WG CTS to the test sections.
  • Just for my own curiosity I also applied UIGP to the other half of the seat and dash to see if there was any difference.

Clean Seat / Dash:

50/50 Seat / Dash:

WG CTS vs. UIGP:

As you can see WG CTS leaves a little more glossy finish than the matte finish of UIGP. Personally I like the slightly glossier look for certain interiors and surfaces.

Pros:

1. Easy to Use
2. No Streaking
3. Nice Gloss that not over the top

Cons:

1. Price: It is slightly higher per ounce than UIGP
2. Chemical Scent

Questions:

1. Does it have the same durability as UIGP?
2. Can the Scent be changed?

Final Thought / Summary:
WG CTS is an easy to use interior sealant that is good for all your interior surfaces. Only time and future use will determine if the claim of dirt & dust repelling is true. WG CTS leaves a little more glossy finish than the matte finish of UIGP. Which on my seats I did like a little better. Sometimes UIGP’s matte look is almost a little white and hazy for me. If you are looking for a new interior trim sealant WG CTs might just be something to look into.

Great review Troy. My findings were right in line with yours. I found Wolfgang Cockpit Sealant to have a slight edge in gloss to Ultima. I too prefer a slight gloss on my interior. My only complaint (if you want to call it one) with Ultima was that it left the surfaces with a very matte or factory look.

Hey, good review, even if you got bashed on it elsewhere by a "famous detailer".

Great review, have some on the way via trade! I'm getting the sense it'll be my go to! Hows it holding up?

Nice review. I have been interested in this since it came out. I might have to pull the trigger. Thank you for your review!

It's been a while since you treated the interior...can you comment on the durability? Thanks

Thanks. Surprisingly it is holding up very well. I have not found the need to re-apply it yet. But this reminds me that I may want to try just to see if/how much it has deteriorated.

As per my comments above it seems to be holding up very well. I will be doing a new 50/50 to test and see just how much it has deteriorated in the past 2 months.

Troy,

Great review and I like the format you used.

The photo's really illustrate the contribution Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant brings to the detailing world and the color of the interior illustrates this perfectly.

Thanks for another super review! :props:

Well if the durability is as good as it seems, you have me sold.

**2 Month Update**

It had been right at 2 months since I originally put WG CTS on my seats and dash. Although I still really like the way everything looked I thought it was time to do a re-fresh. Below is a 50/50 of the seat after applying WG CTS again.

50/50: Right side has WG CTS applied

As you can see the WG CTS was basically gone. So there is no 2 moths of durability. I will watch it closer this time and do a re-application test at 1 month to see how it is holding up. It is tuff for me because I really like and prefer the natural matte finish. So as it wears away it gets closer and closer to what I have always liked and kept my seats looking like.

It does look good though fresh but it seems like a better deal to use perl for the same durability and look

So the WG CTS gave you that much of a difference in terms of gloss? I noticed on mine most of the gloss had gone away the next morning after I applied CTS to the seats but I could definitely tell it was there. Did you think it was certainly gone or the gloss had just died down a bit?

I think it might have still been there. But the gloss and overall look of the product was gone. And I would choose this over Ultima IGP for the looks because UIGP gives a more matte look that ?I can barley tell is there.

great review ! on a side note, what do recommend i clean my leather seats with before applying a sealant like this. my seats have covers on the btw. i only take them off for shows

Thanks you.

On a well cared for interior I like Ultima ISG. But I also use Meg's APC (green) highly diluted.

Thanks for the review.

Your welcome.
