Glass Science Rain Clear Windshield Repellant Gel or Aquapel Glass Teatment & Rain Repellant

Aquapel will outperform and outlast RainX by miles. I hated RainX and love Aquapel in fact I just added a coating this weekend to the Aura.

Can these products be used immediately after the Diamondite Glass Cleaning System has been used?

Another for Aquapel, love it and use it on both our cars (need to get more).

I used Aquapel for the first time. ( I have used rain x before)
I was a little disapointed the first time it rained. It didn't perform the way I was hoping.....but that being said, the other day I drove 60 miles on the interstate ( 65 - 70mph) in a medium rain and did not use the wipers. That was pretty cool. It has been on for 3 weeks.... two rains and a couple hand washings and I don't see any marks where the wipers run..... the whole windshield has the same protection. I plan on getting some more. :xyxthumbs:

I have used a few different spray sealants that have all worked VERY well on the windshield.

I did some checking on this product and would like to try it. I have a few questions if anyone can help out. I'm taking delivery on a 2011 Audi Q5 late in October. The whole roof is tinted glass so there's probably almost as much glass all together as there is paint to take care of. The dealer said to use Rain-X but the Aquapel seems like a much better choice. I pulled an MSDS sheet and it's made by PPG, so they should know glass but the main ingredient (90-100%) is Naphtha. Will this stuff eat paint or rubber seals? Should the surrounding areas be taped off and protected first? It says one pack does an average size windshield or two side windows, how many do you think I would need to do the whole car including the glass roof? I'm guessing 5 or 6. Will it screw up the rain sensor for the wipers? I don't really know how those work. Any information will be greatly appreciated. TIA

I love the Stoner window clean with Rain Repellent! I have had great results with it!

I have never gotten it on rubber nor plastic surrounds but a larger area like that glass roof might indeed be best to be taped off. (I did use it on my sunroof with no issues). I would think your gonna need 4-6 applicators. If you move fast you can get the front and rear on average car done with 1 but best to have someone helping. You apply, they buff in excess, and then buff off together. (you gotta keep moving as it dries out quickly) We also have applied to my fathers CTS with auto wiper sensors and it did not effect them at all. It buffs off clear. Just remember to clean and prep area first for best results.

I have to ask; what's the problem with RainX?? I've successfully used RainX for years, or is it that there's better products?

Thanks very much for the info! Getting a helper sounds like the way to go. Looks like AG has a case of 6 Aquapel for only $35. And... with the labor Day sale going on, I have no choice. It's going into the cart with some other stuff I just can't live without. :dblthumb2:
