Hi Guys,

Currently need a wash without water, I'm undecided between Meguiars D114, UWW + and Opti-Clean, which can be your suggestions?

Also if you could tell me the correct dilutions of each, also advantages and disadvantages.

thanks

I've used all three. For a waterless wash only, I rank them as such

1. UWW+
2. D114
3. Opti-Clean

Opti-Clean is my least favorite out of ALL waterless washes I've used.

The reason I like UWW+ is because it provides a little protection and us very slick. I would only use D114 as a waterless wash on something that has a good/slick LSP because otherwise I find it too grabby for my tastes.

I currently am using Eco Touch waterless wash, I bought 10 bottles last summer on clearance. I've really enjoyed using it, but I think I'll be buying UWW+ once I get through my supply of Eco Touch.

I like D114 for its dilution ratio, scent and leaves nothing behind.
Official label use:
1:128 & 1:256
I use it at (personal DD):
Panel wipe or deep clean - 1:10
Presoak- 1:100

Meguiar's D114 is great if you want to follow up with a spray wax such as D156.

If you want a one and done product and want to stay within the brands listed, I suggest Meguiar's D115.

I use Meguiar's D114 for WWs.

I've found that D114 @1:128 dilution ratio won't
have any adverse affects on any (what I consider):
half-way decent; good; better; or the best...of LSPs.

Meaning: No need for me to "top-up" afterwards.

I use Opti-Clean because I like staying within product lines. I use ONRWW and OCW as well. I like it. Conman, why don't you like it?

If i told you guys what I made up for a waterless you'd probably all choke but it's surprising how well it works. Not sure I'll continue using what I am so I'm not gonna ruffle feathers. Let's just say it's in no way shape or form marketed as a waterless. It is a wash :)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your answers.

Reading the forum, I have seen that the following dilutions:

1. D114: Waterless 1:128
2. UWW+: Waterless 1:43
3. Opti-Clean: Waterless 1:3

At first look because some prefer UWW if D114 has better dilution and is more profitable ?, or more dilution is not always better? matter of taste?

It seems incredible that 1 Gallon of D114 gives you 128 Gallons of waterless.

regards

Yes D114 will make 128 gallons or 512 (32oz) bottles of RTU waterless wash for $32

I'm sure the others are fine products.... but for me, I want something that won't affect my current lsp or leave anything behind on the surface to apply a lsp; That ='s D114.

Of course, ancillary benefits:

WW: 128:1
Clay Lube: 256:1
IPA Replace: 15:1....and Wheel Cleaner.

That's a very versatile quality product that costs pennies and will last me a LONG time.

1st Ballot Detailing Hall of Fame IMO.

hope it helps

Consider Meguiar's D115. It adds protection.

I agree D115 is a great waterless wash but does cost twice as much as D114. The dilution rate is also 4.1 on D115 compared to 128:1 on D114. I also like D114 because it can be used as waterless or rinseless
