Products stored in Garage

yep. do the dance every spring and fall. all products come inside or down to the basement. but i will try to keep the wash stuff close for those warmer days in the winter. i also take in the hose. till i win the lottery, and can have a heated garage with water and drainage, so it is.

Same here!

I keep a bucket of "essentials" handy and take it out to the garage as needed.

I had allot of success with DP Rinseless Wash & Gloss last winter so that will also be part of my "essentials" kit! :props:

After I get them all moved for the season I'll snap a photo of them sleeping...

Although I only have a modest collection, I store everything in this "duffle bag"; its easy to bring in and out of the house and it requires no special shelving. I just store it under the laundry sink.

Keeping products temperature STABLE is key. Freezing is also bad news for most products.

Lucky me. I have a climate controlled storage room within the garage.:xyxthumbs:

Inside house, but everything goes inside stackable milk crates, in closet. Away from furnace and water heater. Safety first.

anyone hear about certain people storing their products in the fridge? was just wondering if that has any benefit or not, read it on the sister forum..

I've heard of people keeping paste waxed in the fridge.

I store my products in the basement. Now I have a question. I have seen some great deals on things I want to buy during the winter but I have not bought them as I was worried that they would be damaged during shipment. Is this just me being crazy?

Items could be damaged during shipment any time during the year. What I am more concerned about is liquid products freezing during the winter.

I move my supplies to the lower level of my home for the winter. I pack them up in banker boxes for the winter storage. My garage is unheated and will often drop near freezing. It takes me a couple hours to lug all this stuff down the stairs and I guess its good exercise, LOL. I also winterize and move my pressure washer and my air compressor down as they are not supposed to be stored in freezing temps either.

I top off all my sprayer/dispenser bottles and they go to a utility closet as I will use them periodically through the winter and I don't want to have to go digging through the boxes to find them. Those products are M135 (UQD), D156 (UQW), D101 (APC), D160 (ASD), D120 Glass Cleaner, D108 (SD).

I also make up a travel kit of mostly OTC sized items for when I get fed up with the snow and ice and decide to head south for a spell. I've got virtually everything I need here, except for the buckets, to maintain my car for a few months. This year, there will be a couple substitutions to the items pictured but basically the kit covers all the bases.

Hi Folks

I always have a question too.. is there any shelf life for detailing product? Pre Polish cleaner/ sealant / quick detailer?

THanks

I do the same thing. It's a job I dread. It ranks up there with switching out summer and winter clothes...UGH :(:(

What we have pictured here is the natural habitat of the classic OCCD (obsessive-compulsive-car-detailer). Maybe if we stick around here long enough, we'll get a glimpse of the OCCD whilst he whittles away in his man-cave, arranging bottles, and re-cleaning already cleaned cars. There is no known cure for this phenomenon at this time...

Ok, I do arrange the bottles by type of product, and while I officially closed up my detailing business 2 years ago, I'm still infected and do clean & re-clean my already clean cars. I've seen a couple specialists and they confirm, there is no known cure. :)

This is all Mike Phillips fault. He's the one that told me, "Find a product you like and use it often." Just turned out that I like a lot of products.

My advice; If you don't have OCCD yet, then by all means don't listen to Mike or you may wind up with this dreaded affliction as well. LOL
(Sorry Mike!) ;)

I would advise that any product which comes in contact with the finish be stored where the ambient temperature is 40F or above.

Your detailing products represent a significant investment and investing 30 minutes or so moving them where there's no danger of freezing is a wise decision.
My garage gets into the 90's in the summer is that to hot for liquid wax and sealant to withstand?
