Hi folks,

Next week I'll be having a detailer (Optimum-authorized) polish my car and apply Optimum's Paint Guard ceramic coating. I'm curious if some of my current cleaning products will be compatible with this coating?

I prefer to use Wolfgang Uber for waterless washing, rinseless washing, and detail spray. Will it still work for me or do I need to consider switching to ONR?

I also occasionally use Optimum's Car Wax spray since it contains UV protection. Will this spray be necessary once the Paint Guard is applied? It's my understanding that Opti-Seal should be used to maintain the ceramic coating, so maybe the makes the Car Wax UV spray a moot point?

Thanks as always everyone. :autowash:

Uber should be fine.

From what I recall reading, the optimum reps have mentioned that the UV inhibitors in optimum car wax do not penetrate through their coatings. That does not mean one can not use it. Feel free to use it. Optimum has also mentioned that their coatings don't require a maintenance product. Take that for what it is worth.

Optimum has since created their coating maintenance line. In that line there is a product by the name of hyper seal. It has an SiO2 component in it unlike opti-seal. You may want to consider that over opti-seal.

Thanks Guz. I wasn’t aware of the new products like Hyper Seal. I’ll see if my retailer is able to acquire some.
