I can see his point of view here. if you have any problem or ask anything about a compound, everyone always suggests 105 and 205. so these have to live up to a major hype... I can't see the 105 be the best en the only... some will get along with it, aome won't

WB removes everything. You really think that stuff is hyped? It's acid - what could the hype be? This stuff is so potent I use it to clean rotors and car parts.

I think 105 is good but it can be flakes and doesn't work to long without help. Wheel brightener is very strong and that scares me sometimes. Rather go with sonax or iron X to be safe.

With regards to hype I'm talking about all around performance and while 5 stars in some areas it may be a lot less in others. That's all I'm saying.
 
I am surprised about the WB! Unless your wheels are covered in oils (which WB wont work with), it is one of the strongest products available outside professional circles!
 
Meg's 105 is super over hyped. It may cut well but then so does almost every compound from a good brand. 105 dusts like a ##### sweating at the church. Plus it has really short work time. It probably does the job but there are better compounds out there.

I agree but it still scares me. I have not used it so much and almost a whole gallon sits here. I will start I guess. What rims should I NOT use it on?
 
M105 and WB are super affordable and they work well. Short work time is one of the reasons people like it. It works well and it's quick.

My 2c m105 is the reason for the success of rupes
It all started with the Kevin brown method and surbuff pads.
So m105 has to be the the greatest compound the industry has seen so far..
 
I love wheel brightener. As long as your careful, you should be fine. Follow the instructions.

105 is over hyped. It works but there are better options. I feel sorry for new detailers buying and thinking that 105 is as good as it gets. I bought because of all the hype and was very disappointed.

Don't use it on anything unless you have to. This is an approach which should be central to detailing - use the least aggressive product necessary to do the job.

To answer more accurately, keep WB away from anything polished/unlaquered/damaged/special. Should be mostly fine on powder coat.

I'm not disputing the fact that it's not the best. But it's over hyped to say it's over hyped...

Besides, tehre's a new kid on the block from Meguiars. It's called M101.

It has excellent reviews because, imo, it's an excellent product. Buy with confidence, UWW+ is awesome, that's why I buy it by the gallon :xyxthumbs:
