I introduce to you guys... SNOWFLAKE!... Ok i know the name is silly but its the nickname it was given way before i bought it so its all good. By now you guys may know why my username is "93fox" So onto the story. This is my 2nd mustang i own, my parents bought it for me about three years ago when i was 18. Its a 93 coupe with a 306, E-Cam, exhaust and bolt-ons. Nothing special, but it sure does move. Sadly one day i got involved in a car accident and the whole front end was totaled. The frame was pushed back and it had all sorts of damage... everyone kept telling me the car had no hope and that i should just take the engine and transmission out and buy another car. I seriously didnt want to do that since this is my favorite model of mustangs and i just couldnt let it go like that... the car sat for a few months and then BAM! i get a job at a body shop. The owner is cool enough and lets me bring it to fix it! I start tearing the whole front end apart and put brand new fender aprons and coil support. We even took the motor out to straighten out the frame to perfection. Alot of work was done to it while it was at the body shop. Sadly i had to quit working there since i was about to start school and i had to store it again for a few months. NOW i finally finished all the projects that got in the way and its now at my school ready to get finished!!! I couldnt be anymore excited to get this bad boy out on the streets again! Here is minor work ive been doing it before it sees any paint.

IMG_0697.jpg

The car had been primed at the body shop so when i brought it in i started blocking it with 320 Grit. I then primed it again and i now blocked it with 400 Grit again.

minor body work.... yum :hungry:

I tore the whole interior apart since it was blue. it looked so hideous, i just dont understand what Ford was thinking making the whole interior blue. Not cool at all. My dad will be doing the whole interior again. Im going to go with black and dark gray. The dash and console will get wrapped with a carbon fiber effect vinyl with double stitching... so will the door panels...:hungry:

IMG_0698.jpg

I will soon be painting the door jams first before i do the entire car. After im done with the door jams i will wet sand the entire car with 600 grit and get it ready for some sealer, base and clear!!!:hungry: just in case some of you guys are wondering why its called "snowflake", its because the car was and will be white. Right now its covered in gray since its all primed but it will be white. My first intention was to paint it Alpine white. Like the white the new M3's have. its such a beautiful white. But my friend talked me into painting it Ford Oxford White. I will keep updating this thread of how everything comes along. I know alot of guys my age (20) call Ferrari's and Lambo's their dream car. For me, since i was 15, this has been my dream car. A white 1993 Coupe Mustang. There is just something about them that i love. I know its not the prettiest car on earth, but i love it. It will look like a show car once its 100% finished... No orange peel, fully detailed, brand new interior. All i need is to shoot some juice...maybe a 100 shot? :hungry:.... Thanks for viewing guys! Keep an eye out as i will be updating this thread from how the car looks now till its all done! :dblthumb2:

Skip the juice and get some new heads and an intake! :dblthumb2: Or gears if you still have the stock cogs in there. I just sold my 93 last summer :( and those two things by far made it more fun to drive. Plus you'll be able to use those all the time unlike the nitrous. Good luck with the project, looks awesome so far!

Just a thought, have you considered Ford's new platinum white? My brother has it on his truck, and it looks good. It's probably expensive, and a bear to spray though.

The oxford white will look good on it too. Just wanted to add my 2 cents.

By the way, great work so far!

Looking forward to seeing the progress & finished pictures of this project. I have a 90 sitting in a garage for a 'someday' project so this is inspiring & killing me at the same time. ;)

Very nice...

I too would have to say skip the sauce...Go with a set of AFR 165's for a 306 and a trickflow trackheat intake...Then look at the on3 performance turbo kit...Alot of guys have had ALOT of success for the money with that setup...The turbos are not all that great but if you upgrade to the precision turbo its leaps and bounds better then the base kit setup...

But at that point you need to look for a mexican block or an aftermarket block...

I hope your running a valley and pan girdle as well...

Are you on any mustang forums?

Very clean car...Are you going to hide the wires and fill the holes in the engine bay as well? That can do ALOT for the looks of the engine bay...I have had a 89 Notch myself, 91 hatch, 93 hatch, and a 2002 GT...All with a mix of strokers, sauce, and superchargers...

Great thread! I too have always wanted a LX fox body. I would go with the BMW white and be different. What's in store for the powertrain?

Just my opinion; Why not add a little blue to the interior to pay homage to the original interior? I thing black, light grey, and blue makes for a cool interior.:xyxthumbs:

Looks like a fun hobby car, though.

Loving the notch nice to see it being brought back to life rather than being sent to the yard. Im working on getting my 84 hatch back on the road at the moment and have a 86 notch that hopefully will have a big block stroker in it by years end

Thanks man! alot of people have been telling me to get some heads and an intake. i dont know, so far my main concern is painting it and making it looks better than new!

Thanks for the tip! i actually just looked it up and it is a very hard color to spray. Its a Tri-coat color. Meaning i would have to lay down the base, then a tinted clear with pearl then clear. Ive never sprayed that and i have heard the horror stories if tri-coat colors are not sprayed correctly. ill just stick with a solid white. :dblthumb2:

A guy i know that builds nothing but 8 and 9 sec street car mustangs said that some heads, an intake and a shot could land me in the 10's. But id take a turbo any day over the sauce, nothing like a turbo notch!!!!

I think i will go with the alpine white... it just looks soooooo sexy! :dblthumb2:

Ted, good idea. But i hate colored interiors. I would never want any color such as blue or red on my interior. but good idea man!

I'm jealous man, white stangs look sooo sweet. Here was mine right before I took the plates off and the guy drove away with it. Awesome project.

I don't see that happening...The best I have seen is 11's and that was with a stripped to the gills car with a killer suspension setup...

With a 306, AFR heads, Trickflow intake, and a custom ground cam you will see about 300rwhp...With sauce you will see about 420rwhp/450rwtq...Gotta remember the sauce does wonders for tq numbers...But remember the limits of the block...These might even be alittle high if anything...

I would say you would see mid 12's out of that setup...

Check out some of the cars over on www.moddedmustangs.com we have a killer 5.0 section and some guys in there to give you the best advice...

For 10's I think you are going to need an aftermarket block as even with the girdles in place most oem foxbody 302's blocks don't like much over 500rwhp...Which I think you will need to be close to powerwise to make the 10's happen...This is is just my experience though...

Me personally I would go with a 331 (mexican block, dart, mow or even a 351 variant IE 408/393), some nice heads, custom grind cam, trickflow r intake, on3 kit, and a few other odd and ends...Just remember fuel fuel fuel...LOL

UPDATE.

So i finally got finishing blocking the whole car and i got a chance to start prepping the door jams. Since painting the door jams is the first thing that should be done before proceeding to doing the entire exterior. What annoyed me the most is that there are parts in the door jams and the door that are black. Yes black. So in order to paint the black, i had to cover the entire area where the white area was going to be. A REAL big hassle just for two small parts that are black. But hey, if i already took all this time, might as well do it right. Here are the pictures of when i painted the black areas.

IMG_0757.jpg

Just in case your wondering why i covered the entire car, its because i didnt want the hassle to sand off overspray. it was going to make me work twice, and its something that can easily be avoided.

This one of the areas that are suppose to be black. I looked at another mustang that had been repainted and these areas were the same as everything.... it didnt look nice, so i knew i had to paint them black.

Nice and shiny! :xyxthumbs:

So i painted those on Wednesday. Today i had to paint the areas that were white. So now this time i had to cover all the black areas so i wouldnt get overspray on those. So much taping done just for door jams.... :bash:

I didnt get a chance to take pictures before i started since i was in a hurry. I didnt get a chance to spray in the paint booth so i had to do it in the primer booth. Lets just say that we gave the primer booth the nickname of "dirt booth". No matter how much they clean it, sweep it, wet the floor... theres always garbage and dirt falling on the car while you are painting... so i had to do sanding in between coats since little pieces of stuff kept falling on as i was working. I only got to take pictures of the "after" so here they are...

At the time i took these pictures i had already removed all the plastic from the car. I layed a big sheet in the interior so all the dust wouldnt fly around as i was shooting the paint. In person it looks just beautiful. So far i am very happy with all the results ive been getting. Everything has been coming out the way i wanted to! next week i will begin wet sanding the entire exterior with 600 to get it ready to paint it all. Thanks for looking! any comments are more than welcomed! :dblthumb2:

Awesome man, I love project cars. Ironically I just saw a 93 5.0 at my girls work for sale. $3k or better offer. Almost grabbed it just to have a project car like this!

93 is my favorite year too ;)

car should look great. white coupe with some ccw classics would really stand out :xyxthumbs:

with the right h/c/i the car would be a blast to drive. add a power adder on top of that you will start finding the weakest link in the car. almost 10 years ago my car went a best of 11.12@126 with the stock shortblock, suspension, h/c/i and a s-trim on radials. 126 is a 10 sec mph but the 60' was never there. my advice would be to just stick with the motor stuff and enjoy it as there will come a point where you will wish you stopped. trust me on that Im the MAN

here is a white coupe with the ccw's

i would have went with a lighter anodized center but it still looks great

While you have it all apart like that you should throw in some FLSFC's and maybe a 4pt roll bar to stiffen it up. Foxes aren'tall that stiff from the factory. Sweet project. I've always hada soft spot in my heart for old fox bodies. When I was in high school that was the car to have. Watched these things eat up Irocs and Z28's on a regular basis. This was before everyone had the elctronics figured out and bolts on's were pretty much exhaust, UDP's, and intakes.

FLSFC's should have came factory on all mustangs since 79 LOL one of the best mods I ever did to all my mustangs...only third to my second favorite mod which was a tubular K-member and my most favorite which was boost...

Ive been told that with an s trim and a h/c/i setup they run pretty strong and fast. I dont have the money to spend on such thing, and this will be my daily driver. so the going really fast part is gonna have to wait. :hungry:

Haha i bet you are right. irocs are horrific imo... not pretty at all. As most of you guys have mentioned all these mods i wish i really could. If i had a place to keep this car and get myself another daily driver i would keep it. but since i dont and this will be my daily driver. Its why i cant go all out with it... but thanks! :dblthumb2:
