Hi,

I have a 7424XP DA with the clay pad. I will be using Pinnacle clay. I was wondering at what speed should I set the DA to clay my car?

Thanks,
Jeff

Speed 3 should be fine when using DA applied claying pads

clay or clay alternatives on a machine scares me...

I guess it has more to do with the unknown to be honest. When you are doing it by hand you get to feel if its necessary for more lubrication and you can feel if the contaminates are coming off or when more passes are required. Not sure if you will be able to feel the same on a machine.

When using the clay alternative you do get an auditory and a certain feel for the bonded contaminants but regardless if you go new school or old school you always have the trusty free hand and the baggy test :dblthumb2:

To be honest, after doing about 20 cars using the clay alternative (nanoskin in my case) I will never go back to traditional clay (except for spot decontamination). Not a single issue of marring, not a single mishap post dropping the mitt, and 30-40% speedier process. It may be a little bit of a departure at first, but the first car will convince you ;)

^ I have no doubt the process would a lot faster.
I guess I just need to take baby steps... I am planing on my next purchase to be of a towel form. :)
