Pros: Are you removing Lic Plates?

I do it when the car is really dirty or it came in for a full day of work. I learned from past experiences that some individuals hold their license plates with worn out screws and then i find myself going to the hardware store to look for screws.

I'm glad to hear that you guys are doing this.

The lic. plate holds alot of dirt. In the past I've dealt with dirt sneaking out of the plate especially when a buffer vibrates it.
Also I've ruined a few pads when they touched the plate.

Some cars you can't remove the plate due to bad screws.

But customers do comment when they see me removing the plate. I think it puts them at ease because they can see I'm really doing the work it takes to "do everything" to get ALL the DIRT off their car.

And cleaning the license plate itself while it's off.

I always remove the plate and make sure the customer knows about it being most people don't remove it.
They love you for it :)
I also detail the plate some too while I'm at it.

On quick and cheap in and out jobs, (which I rarely do) no the plate stays on.

When a customer spares no expense and gives me a blank (within reason) check to work with, yes the plate comes off. Like Bob mentioned, the frame and hardware see some nice attention too.
