To my wits end on this one. My friend brought over his car to show me this last night. He discovered that a little bit of protein shake spilled on the side of the car, paid no mind to it, and two weeks later, he tells me to remove it.

I washed it and ran a clay bar over it, did nothing but make the surface smooth. Is there anything i can use with the flex 3401 to fix this, or is it time for a repaint?

Ouch! That feels smooth? So the shake cracked/crazed the clearcoat?

That's crazy, but if your picture shows what it seems to, no way to fix that.

At first I could feel it as i brushed my hand past it, but after claying the surface felt smooth.

What type of work needs to be done?

Nothing. It may stay just like that for a long time. The cracks don't seem to be open? You can't catch a fingernail in there?

I tried scratching at it with my fingernails but no dice.

Body shop?

I can't believe how it penetrated the clear coat. On the other hand, it's been really hot the last couple weeks and I'm sure it just baked in the sun. smh

If nothing is open it may stay like that without getting worse. If he can't live with it, it's gotta be repainted.

Unless someone else has a different opinion.

Jesus, I've been drinking protein shakes for the last 17 years, wonder what my insides look like lol

What's worse is that it runs from quarter panel down to bumper.

I guess all those amino acids are truly acidic lol... What your plans to fix it? I am assuming you'd wash, clay, and probably have to use a compound.

I washed and clayed already...if the clear coat is cracked, I dont think compound will work??

Bro you cant be spilling your gains like that.. Jk. I have spilled protein on my leather seat but cleaned it right away.

I will be conducting a review on whey protein powders which is less aggressive on lsp's:xyxthumbs:
