Pulling My Hair Out!!!

After hitting her with the Blue Lake Country Pad and 3M Ultrafina, I was able to correct those lines I was seeing. Also got my Scangrip Headlight today to confirm my work. Going to hit her with CarPro Essence and Essence Plus and call it good!

Not true
Seen it MANY MANY times

Looks like it was in the clear though

Are you saying if they sanded the primer with 800g and then shot the base color coat and then the clear, you would see the sanding marks from sanding the primer?

Nope-- not saying that at all. Most body shops dont finish primer with 800G-- they finish with more like 320 or @ best 400. High $ custom paint work or folks that do it them selves might sand the primer with 800G-- but the over whelming vast majority of body & paint shops will be using 320 on the primer. Remember-- we are talking about the primer.

What post # did you read that they finished the primer with 800G ?

Just used 800g as an example. Your saying majority of P&B shops sand primer with 320g, which will leave even deeper sanding marks. In any event the lines were not in the primer, but the clear coat.

FWIW - all the lines I was seeing in this particular paint job corrected with 3M Ultrafina on a super soft Blue Lake Country pad. After she was corrected, I put the white Rupes pad back on with WG Total Swirl Remover and was able to replicate the fine lines I was seeing before. The lines are literally invisible in direct, bright white LED lighting. But under softer, yellower light at an angle, they show up. After hitting that test section with the 3M Ultrafina on the Blue Lake Country pad, those little lines disappeared. This particular Base/Clear must be some really soft paint. She is corrected now, and I just received my shipment of CarPro Essence and Essence Plus. I will go over the whole car with the Essence first, then the Essence Plus and report back.
