I’m looking at a McKillans gun now
I’ll look at Essentials as well
I wish I remembered the brand of the gun I had in Hawaii that came from Amazon
It got used multiple times a week for several years and zero issues
I guess if I want to blow a huge load of cash I can look at Mosmatic
Great gun?
Probably
Status symbol?
To me it kind of is and I have no one to impress

I dont think anyone offers a 1 year on guns, Mosmatic only does a 6 month warranty on their products.
McKillians has their new Swivel Gun Pro out. $99.00 plus there is a available discount code for 25% off: EARLY25
Their own video on leaking guns says one possible reason is a corroded check ball in the valve assembly
If they know this is a problem...it's just hard for me to understand why they wouldn't spend another 10 or 15 cents and put a stainless ball in there (yes, I was just looking at the price of ball bearings). Unless they are using the cheapest steel ball...then it would cost them like 18 cents more for a stainless one.
No, the rust is coming from the gun
It gets disconnected after use, the nozzle gets put back in the rack, and the gun hangs vertically from the wand holder on the PW
Since I started seeing this I have made sure I pull the trigger and “sling” the gun to get as much water out as possible and after a few days there is obviously still maybe a teaspoon of rusty water in the gun that dribbles out when I take it off the hanger
I probably should have been blowing the gun out with compressed air before putting it away but to me that’s ridiculous
It shouldn’t need that much babying

Without taking it apart I won’t know what the problem actually is but I have to wash the car tomorrow morning for a trip and I’m not dealing with it until I get back
Even then I’m going to have a new gun in hand before I tear it apart and I doubt it will be an MTM gun

Their site says 1 year…. Doesn’t specify what products so guessing all![]()

It’s funny you posted this thread… Because just last week I ran into the same issue with my pressure washer stuff, rust.
My 1st symptom was the quick connects started becoming a PITA to connect/disconnect. Then all of a sudden I didn’t get any water flow when I pulled the trigger and that’s when I decided to take everything apart and noticed a bunch of rust.
So I contacted Yamatic via email describing my issue and how it had only been just over a couple of months since my purchase on amazon and included these pics.

Now in my case only the ends of the hose & quick connects rusted. The end on my pressure washer was fine and so was my gun, so I was honest and left it at that and after asking a few simple questions such as how often I use the pressure washer and how do I store the hose they were nice enough to ship me a brand new 50’ hose & quick connects completely hassle free.

As far as the hose, I simply used some CLR and scraped off the rust and I’m still using it, as far as the quick connects: I ordered some new ones a couple of days before contacting Yamatic, this time I bought some stainless steel quick connects from Power Town.
Pretty good deal, $16 bucks.

I’ll give Yamatic credit for standing behind their products. And their gun continues to perform A+ quality.
I got a refund a few years back on some brass quick connects that the balls and retaining ring all rusted in a matter of days
I don’t remember the vendor’s name but it was an Amazon purchase
I am looking at the Essentials stainless set now, although my connections aren’t the problem at the moment
I just figure if I can eliminate all the variables and bulletproof my system bit by bit I might keep a piece of broken off rusty crap from skittering across my hood some day like a piece of shrapnel
I know the nozzle orifice would probably catch it first but I’d rather just sort it all out now

I hear you, that’s why I’m currently contemplating whether I should start using that new hose instead of keeping it in the box for the next generation to use. Lol.
Not sure if you’ve seen this video, but this dude opens up several guns including the Essential Washer and shows you the internals.

I’ll review that video
Thanks
I actually still had the pics of the crappy Amazon connectors
I had forgotten that some of the retaining balls corroded and some didn’t in the same connectors
They were obviously using some stainless balls and some not-so-stainless balls in the same unit
