QD or Spray Wax to top Colinite 845 after Washing.

So, DG or Meguairs UDW?

I picked up two bottles of Meguairs UDW since they had a buy two and get $5 off. But if DG is better I'll return these and get that.

R u using wolfgang dgss?? I got that one too, but I'm not really sure to add that on top of my bfwd. Will it bond?
 
I prefer Griots spray wax. Others I've tried include OCW and UQW, but both of them streaked on me.
 
I have white paint also and I've noticed that MUQW needs to be buffed after wiping dry. Just use a plush MF and buff quickly by hand. If you want a noticeable increase in shine try XMT360 Spray wax. I use both, the MUQW because I can buy it nearby on a military base for cheap, and the XMT360 when it goes on BOGO.
 
As a wintertime preseason prep, Collinite 845 is my last layer of protection. After I wash my cars and truck I give them a lasting layer of spray wax protection of either Optimum Spray Car Wax or XMT 360 Spray Wax....
 
I have used PoorBoy Spray & Gloss and QW+ over 845 on dark colors, both give a nice wet pop to the finish. QW+ is a quick wax, where the SnG is more gloss enhanced QD.

Few things I do not care for from PB, QD+ is one of them.
I get streaks from it a lot. I guess I am too stupid to use it, as I do not get consistent results, regardless of temperature or humidity. It has to be end user error on my part.

I will have to put the Aquawax on the list to try, sounds like it could be a nice option and if I can get it OTC at Napa, all the better for the instant have to have it now part of me.:xyxthumbs:

yup - I have no idea if it bonds though, but really don't care - the care looks good all week!
I'm using it over Crystal seal....it flashes perfectly....more so than others...
 
I have COllinite 845 and Meg's UQW- haven't paired the two yet though.

I will say that on my orange Mustang, the UQW works awesome. My Mustang hasn't been driven much, and as such it hasn't seen wax in literally years- granted it does spend it's "off time" in the garage.

After my last wash I hit it with the UQW and the gloss and slickness was VERY noticeable. The beading during the next wash amazed me, too.

For an OTC, I don't think it can be beat. I'm going to top the GF's car [PoliSeal right now] with Collinite, and it'll see a lot of UQW as well.
 
I use a quick wax after washing as a drying aid and a wax booster, my truck always has 845 on it, and i use UQW, reload spray sealant, and my favorite and most recent product, prima hydro, out of all 3 of those, none of them streak and i have dark metallic blue paint that shows everything, but by far, the slickest and glossiest is prima hydro-great product you should give it a try!
 
Am I the only persons who applies a spray wax when the car is wet? Makes drying the car much faster and easier, and leaves a nice shine.
 
I also applied 845 back in October on my black car. Every 3 weeks I apply Ultimate Quick Wax after a wash and it looks absolutely amazing. The surface is very slick and wet looking and stays that way for a while. Even with all of this winter salt we get

My friend just purchased a 2012 black chevy truck and called me today and told me that Meguiars Ultimate Quick Wax made his paint look extremely deep. He applied it after a wash and sprayed it on the semi wet panels then dried with a microfiber towel Based on the post above and my friends experience, seems to indicate MUQW is very good on black for showing depth.

Since my vehicle is white, showing gloss is way easier than showing depth.

My next product to try will be duragloss aqua wax 951 since I was able to find it today over the counter at Carquest. I am hoping for extreme gloss. When the weather allows, I will try it and include photos to this thread.:)

We are seeing a bit of improvement!

Today I continued my quest for adding gloss to the white paint on my vehicle which has a 60 day old coat of Colinite 845 on the surface.

I initially tried Meguiars Ultimate Quick Wax and was not pleased with the gloss level given so my next test is Duragloss Aquawax 951 Spray Wax since it is available locally.

I washed the vehicle and dried it with the master blaster and then applied Duragloss Aqua Wax to the front door but none on the rear door. Today's temperature is 50 degrees and cloudy but the sun finally came out later on a bit.

I do see an improvement but still not what I was hoping for. You can see more improvement when viewed from an angle and not from the side. I would say I can see a 10% improvement. Distinction of image of the car headlight in the front door is a bit greater than the rear door.

I probably will be putting together a order from autogeek and probably will try XMT 360 spray wax in the future as well as possibly some of the other suggestions. Hoping I find the right product for me soon!:)
