QD to much?

well maybe i will clean off the car and strip the layers of wax off...wouldn't really bother me as i would like to try the clearkote products i ordered or i can use the DG sealant and then top it with SSII...to me it really doesn't matter...

thanks for all of the info, but im still looking for a QD then...i liked the new Crystal Mist, maybe i should just order a big one since i have the bottle!

im juat wondering but if its suppost to rain later this evening and then possible tomorrow should i hold off on stripping off the old wax and applying new wax? b/c it doesn't have enough time to cure or would it be ok?

yea man, I feel ya on that one. I was going to do a full detail today. Wash, clay, light polish, seal and wax. But, I dont think it will be worth it... I am going to do it on friday.

If your going to qd' daily or every couple of days I wouldn't use a normal qd'er like CM, or even DG Fast Clean and SHine etc. You want something more lubey. Like Poorboys Spray and Wipe, it's like between a rinsless wash and qd'er. QD'ers are good for touch ups and light clean ups like faint dust or fingerprints etc, anything else and you run the risk of marring.

Get Poorboys Spray and Wipe.

Definetly wouldn't use the DP sealant that you mentioned until you can let it cure 12 hours/no H2O. Rain would destroy your work.

ok well i wont work on the car today then...maybe this weekend...i knew that the DP sealant needed 12 hrs to cure...

when i QD, i would think about doing it maybe after driving to and from work but if doing a simple 30 miles drive and then QD is a bad idea then maybe what i need to do is turn my attention to a rinseless wash and/or a foam gun...

i didn't realise this but i also have the DP 4-in-1...

A rinse-less wash W/ microfiber would be a better idea. DP 4-in-1 would work great...

so i could use the DP 4-in-1 but what are its limits...like how do you know when to use it and when not to use this product...also, what is the difference from a QD and a rinseless wash?

Surfer: hows this stack up as an everyday??? compared to spray n wipe

note:: Light dust is all that collects minimally on my ride.........

Poorboy’s Spray & Gloss: Spray & Gloss is a quick detailer with superior gloss enhancing properties. quick spray, poorboys gloss spray, poorboys spray

You can mix S&W and S&G for the best of both worlds... but S&W and S&G alone are both great. Must haves

so i guess that QDing my car after my 60 mile to and from trip to school each day wouldn't be a good idea...

if this is the case then what can i do so that i can put the car cover over top of my car each night?

thanks!

I only use QD when my car has only the smallest amount of light dust on it. It's kept in a garage so I'm lucky enough to be able to keep it clean most of the time, but even after I finish cleaning, polishing, sealing and waxing and I take it out for a 10 minutes ride on what appear to be clean paved roads, the face of the rear end (back bumper and trunk face) always have a light coating of dirt on it. As much as I don't really like to, I'll QD the back end just so the whole car is clean again. It seems like there's a vortex ( thats what I call it) of wind created behind the car that picks up everything that my tires lift when they roll over the ground and deposit it at the back of the car. Right now I'm using Pinnacle QD and I'm very happy with it, but I also have 4 or 5 bottles of Meguiers QD which isn't bad and one and a half bottles of Zaino QD which they call Grand Finale which is quite good but pricy the way I use it. Since I've found Autogeek, the only products I'll be using will coming from them. Great selection, fair prices and very good customer service, and of course the benefit of this site and all the helpful people who
stand ready to offer help. This is the whole package.

Its really a mental thing with me.........i need to clean everyday in one matter or another.

the dp 4-1 is good stuff. very easy to qd (among its other uses) but wouldn't say its the slickest feeling product on this site. pb s&w is somewhat slicker to me--but the appearance is all relative (especially on my metallic silver). however, if you already have a good layer of sealant or wax, the 4-1 is just fine and works great on the wheels too for light brake dust cleaning.
