Quantum Detailing!

I may or may not be on Ebay right now......

LOL!!! Even if you don't use it for detailing it's pretty freaking cool to mess around with.

Check this out... you guys will like this >>>

Here is a close up of a single bead of water on an unprotected surface (glass). I measured the contact angle with the micro-capture software.

Here is the same surface treated with a coat of MaxWax. Notice the huge difference in contact angle!

This thing is too much fun haha!

I wonder how opti coat and PL look.

You have PL Nicholas?

I have the following LSPs: D151, D156, Poli-Coat, MaxWax, 845, NXT 2.0, C.Quartz Finest, Reload, and probably a few others I'm not thinking of at the moment...

I'll try to get some cool shots of how water behaves with these in the near future.

I've been working on a very special paint restoration this weekend. I should have it finished within the next couple days. The owner tried to level the orange peel on this classic car via machine damp sanding and then could not polish out the sanding marks. This is the most intensive restoration I have been involved with. I believe these are tracers/pigtails from 1000 or 1500 grit paper...

Damp sanding pigtails at 800x.

That's weird... it looks like the ones pulled from my FB page don't show in the app... DANG!!! Guess I'll just start uploading them all to AG too.

This latest one is the only one that didn't come through.

I think it would be dangerous if I got me one of those microscopes. I'd go hunting for swirls with it and my family would never see me again! lol

Picked up a test panel the other day to practice machine wet sanding. Since I'm a nerd I also captured some images of various paint defects and before/after shots with my microscope.

Here is what the whole panel looked like after a quick APC wash, Iron-X and clay decon. It's base clear. Panel is from the hood of a black Ford Explorer. No idea what year as it was already pretty torn apart at the junk yard.

There were some bird bombs that had been sitting on the paint for who knows how long. Here is what it looked like underneath. Completely compromised the integrity of the paint.
