Question about appearance of black paint

No I dont hate you, were both trying to help here giving the OP some input. I didnt put pearls in because I was speaking of general colors and not paint effects. I've worked in several body shops and one of my friends buys/sells cars all the time. I've worked on every car he's had repainted by mulitply body shops in the Philadelphia area and surrounding counties including NJ. Even the best paint jobs that fully match in sun always have a different tone under inspection lights just like the OP.

The cloudyiness ususally occurs when a temperature and humidity controlled booth is not used. The humidity in the air blushes the clear coat and gives it that look.

Cool. I'm glad you don't hate me :)

I worked in my buddys bodyshop for 4 days. So now I feel as though I'm somewhat of an expert Im the MAN

That's all fine--EXCEPT THE PANELS THAT LOOK THAT WAY ARE THE ONES THAT WEREN'T PAINTED.

EDIT: From earlier in the thread: "the repaint areas (the A-post and driver's door) reflect in more of a dark black tint"

Haha, Oops, missed that part. I thought the fender and hood was the one that was repainted not the door and A-pillar.

For the darker tone, its could be a case of wrong color or batch differences in the paint.

(That factory ford paint looks nasty to me.)
