Question about MF cutting pads

With mf cutting pads is it normal for the pad to flatten out and this is what you work with? or should it remain fluffy? I tried out my LC mf cutting pads today and was amazed with the results really brought out the gloss but not sure about the pad flattening down.
 
Normal. You must blow out the pad with compressed air or brush it out after each pass. This will remove spent residue and re-fluff the fibers.

some are better than others in that regard (matting down) but yea, regular cleaning and re-fluffing is needed
