I just got a g110v2, assembled it, and turned it on. I put a white ccs pad on it and starting it up. I put my hand against the pad and when I turned it up to about 3.5 it started getting really hot. I had to take my hand off the pad. Is this unusual? I was barely pressing against the pad, I'm just wondering because if I'm going to be doing paint correction with a setting of 4-5 I would be producing a lot of heat. Granted I was just holding my hand there and not moving it, but it's still a bit worrisome.

Yes, that is normal.

You've got to remember that when you go to polish your paint, you will be slowly moving the polisher across the surface of the panel, not spending time in one spot for very long, so the heat generated in one spot should be minimal.

Yeah that's what I figured. I moved my hand across at a rate that I would be polishing at and it wasn't too hot.

Yea, plus the polish or wax on your pad will act as a lubricant also cutting down on some of the heat.
