Question about Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Coatings

If the paint is pure black I would use CQUK. I have had it on my wife car for over 3 years.

If the paint is metallic I would look at CQ original. I had it on the same car for just over 2 years before I polished it off and went with CQUK when it came out. And honestly after the deacon the CQ was still going strong and didn’t need to come off.

I have used Gloss Coat and it is super easy to use. But it hasn’t been as nice as the CarPro stuff.

3 years with no polishing? It had to have traffic film and contamination on it after that long no? What about washing swirls? The car is black?

Correct 3 years with no polishing.

I do quite a few regular washes as well as using an APC for even IronX or TarX when needed. So I haven't really had any issue with traffic film. If you wash properly and regularly you should have this problem.

It is a metallic grey VW so that paint is rather hard and resist marring and swirling. But since it is a daily driver there are some minor things here and there but nothing bad enough to need to polish.

So tell me, how resistant is a coating to swirling from regular washes/drying?

I use a variety of 2 bucket method, to a GDWM multiple mf towels or hybrids of some sort.

Edit: I know nothing is 100% when washing to protect for swirling.

I know both is 100% when washing to protect for swirling.
It's more resist then nothing and better then wax or sealants but no matter what method you are going to marr or scrach something.

Yeah, I meant to type “I know [nothing] is 100%”

That’s good to know. Technically, if it gets swirling it’s in the coating though, right?

I need to relax, my ocd on this new black paint is going to kill me. lol

Remember black paint is another job..lol

In most cases it should be on the coating but it could go deeper as well.

Like I tell my clients think of it like a glass cell phone screen protector. it keeps the phone easier to clean but it can still get cracked and still be scratched it just depends on how deep the damages is.
