I saw in another thread and someone posted that they can't post links. Are we not allowed to post a link to or from another site? I'm not in any way trying to stir the pot. I'm just curious and don't want to get banned. from what I've checked out this is a fantastic forum, but I also belong to several forums. Tools, welding and motorcycles. In fact I belong to too many forums, but I personally feel it's a great way to self educate myself and learn new things.

I didn't look up the exact wording of the rule, but in practicality, they don't want you posting links to other sites for products that are sold here or compete with products that are sold here. For instance, I don't think they have a problem if you post a link to a table saw or a couch for your living room.

EDIT: Well, this is the wording from the rules: "This is a private forum and open links to other companies that are not associated with Autogeek.net will be deleted and will result in a permanent ban."

In reality they are pretty lenient, as long as you are not linking to competitive sites.

I think the following from Forum Rules is what is being discussed here

13. No Commercial sales or samples from competing companies. One post trying to promote and you will have banned yourself permanently.

It comes down to this if AGO sells it don't post a link to another website selling it. If you got a workbench at home depot its ok to post the link.

While there is a certain degree of leniency, its usually best to err on the side of caution and avoid posting any links outside of AG / AGO.

O.K. thanks folks. I totally understand that. Very cool forum and everybody seems real nice and helpful. Just wasn't sure and to tell you the truth I'm one of those that doesn't always read the rules. Part of my A.D.D./O.C.D. I appreciate the forum rules. So far it seems like I could spend 24/7 reading on here. I'm glad I have a tablet that I can read while getting ready to go to sleep at night.

what about links to other PBMG sites? Sometimes one sells a particular nice "kit" that the others don't. I know separate units under the same umbrella, but just wondering where the fine line is.
