I've had a curiosity for quite a while now and didn't want to jump until I've heard from others.

I have a pretty "extensive" (see: excessive) amount of LSPs for different colors, paints, looks like every other obsessed detailer. I’ve played with Zaino products in the past and had pretty good results with them but have since moved on to 845, BFWD, PB Nattys Blue, Liq and paste Souveran…you name it, I probably have it.

Just checking to see where Zaino Z2 Pro stacks up with everything else. From my reading, it looks as if Z2 claims protection of 3-4 months per application and people seem to have good/great results with it but that was “back in the day” and the internet seems to have gone quiet on Zaino for a while. Just testing the waters before I jump in and end up with another wax I don’t like that will sit around until I throw it out.

Thanks for your input.

I've used Zaino in the past as well and then I was directed to AG, where I found Duragloss and haven't looked back since! I also really like Collinite too, bought "The Tripletts" and couldn't be happier. Not sure if my collection is quite as large as yours but I've got like 15 LSP's and about 6 different polishes. I'm at the point now where I really need to use up some of my stock before I buy anything else though. That being said, I'm low on BFCS, LOL!

If this tells you anything, this is just my Chemical Guys Line Up. lol

Looks like you're confirming what I already pretty much knew. It was good for its time but now there's better items on the market for around the same cost.

DG is cheaper than Zaino and when using #601 w/ any DG product, you'll achieve even better results! Nice collection there and yeah, your collection is waaaay more extensive than mine, you've really been bit by the bug!!

Well, can't say I started last week either. I've been detailing for probably close to ten years at this point so it's not a buy everything type of situation. More of a try a line, like it, get a bunch of their stuff and branch out when you find something better. I like CG for APC, soaps and sealants mainly as well as some air fresheners. Beyond that, I usually leave them alone. Especially after the crap customer service I just received via e-mail a few weeks ago when advising them of a problem with their VRT dressing MOLDING in a 75 degree garage with a sealed lid...on a gallon...which isn't cheap. They told me they keep theirs at 60 degrees...riiiiiiiiiight.

You're using Z2 as an LSP? Why not Zaino Clear Seal? Or at the very least, Z8 on top of Z2.

I still think Z-2 is a great sealant, and although the Zaino stuff gets compared to DG a lot (including by me) I can never get DG results like ZFX'd Zaino. As far as things going quiet about Zaino, if you go to their site and the "what's new" page, the last entry was in 2007...not exactly the best formula for generating internet buzz.

From what I've seen of their line, Zaino's products seem more complicated to use compared to other brands.

Technically, Zaino and Duragloss call their sealants "polishes".

Right and I've always wondered about this. IMO Zaino needs the ZFX additive to make it the most effective, like adding #601 to the DG products.

I never used Z-2, I only tried the Z-5 pro as the guy at Zaino told me it was the better of the two. The Z-CS was the first WOWA product I ever tried and was blown away at how shiney the car looked, it was a true "game changer" for me at that point, that was the spring of 2010 and I haven't looked back since!

I'm not using any Zaino product as an LSP...or sealant for that matter...just asking for general consensus.

I'm not sure why you think you should finish with Z-8. That's just a detail spray. While it may provide a little boost to durability and or shine, it's not necessary. The Clear Seal seems to basically be a different version of some of the super long lasting protectants like Opti-Coat 2.0 but with less durability and totally different prep.

Regardless, I guarantee you won't have any problems with Z-2 as a LSP if you really wanted. I was just curious as to how it stacks up to newer products on the market.

The detail spray is Z-6; Z-8 is a spray sealant, and a very good one.

Clear Seal is nothing like OC 2.0 other than some anecdotal history and the WOWA application method. The comparable products to Z-CS are UPGP, Opti-Seal, BFCS, and WDGLS.

That's because Z-2 IS an LSP...let's not perpetuate this nonsense any longer in this thread that Z-2 and Z-5 are anything other than LSP's. Zaino and DG do not use the term "polish" in the same way we generally refer to polishes on this forum.

All this talk about Zaino made my go to their website. In case you'd like to know, they have those borderless blond towels again. Now I'll spend the rest of the day fighting with myself not to buy them.

Ugggghhhhh.

Oh go for it!

Ahh yes, Internet mis-information at its finest lol. I think I'll just stick with what I have now. When I run out of a bottle I have, I may pick up some z-2. It would be for personal daily drivers. I previously used z-2 and zfx to cut cure time between coats but personally feel they should have already reformulated their z-2 to not need the additional step for faster cure times. I don't like the idea of leaving the paint to gather crap from the air and dust from opening my garage waiting for the z-2 to cure before an additional coat. I like to layer BF sealant twice then finish with the BF carn. Excuse not being versed in the acronym world.

The good news: I didn't buy the blond towels. :xyxthumbs:
The bad news: I bought two bottles of Z-8  As if I don't own enough sprays already.

I just couldn't help myself.

Oh man...you should have just bought 2 bottles of DG Aquawax and had one bottle's worth of Z-8...sorry!
