Somebody told me the paint on the aluminium panels is powder coat. They said you were not supposed to use regular wax products on it. Does anybody know if this is true or not?

I was just reading about that vehicle, it said it was regular paint, although the paint line had to be changed because the (pre-paint) prep for aluminum is different.

Regular paint, aluminum has been used a lot in the last 10 years. BMW,Audi,MB etc, heck even my Dodge has aluminum hood

I did 3 steps on an AL hood on a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 9. I don't know why, but I felt the paint was thinner on the hood vs the rest of the car.

I didn't have any issues with it. I didn't pursue 90-100% though

I have a 2016 F-150 and I have had no problems with putting Meguiars Ultimate wax on it

P552 uses normal paint. That's one of my programs. I spent alot of time at the plant during the launch. You would be amazed on how much spot correction goes on to a new body.

The body before this one had an aluminum hood. I don't do anything different.

ok thanks, i was just going on what someone said and the fact that i put some souveran on it a while ago and didn't notice much difference. prob because i didnt wash and clay it properly.

I just detailed a 2017 F150 a few weekends ago. No issues using m205 with a white pad and then mckees high def sealant for lsp. Finished out nicely

My 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix has an aluminum hood (who knew).

It's been polished and coated to death the last 5-6 years.

No difference to steal at all.
