I know this all comes down to opinion and other peoples experience. I've been reading posts for the last 2 weeks and my head is just spinning with information. At first I was dead set on the Porter Cable 7424XP. After reading through this forum I have decided that it would be a far better purchase to go Griots. Now with that being said, I am in a dilema.
First off there are quite a few packages that involve Griots 6" ROP. I have kinda set myself on wanting 5.5 inch pads but maybe someone can shed some light. I have two vehicles that I would be working on off the bat. The first is my wifes 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Metallic Black. This needs some paint correction. Some swirls, some light scratches and some contaminated paint. The second is my 2012 Charger is Silver. I know that with silver I can't expect the most but I have kept on this car as I bought it brand new. The Grand Cherokee was bought used and needs some TLC.
Now onto whats in my wax cabinet so far. I have quite the array of waxes and recently added some more from Chemical Guys. I'd like to list what I have so that someone can help answer what I need to add to get the results I am looking for. I have Chemical Guys Blacklight, Jestseal, 50/50 and their 3x sealant with carnuba. I also have some Duragloss 101 and a meguiars and mothers clay kit. Also I have a good amount of store bought waxes.
My question is, I have a budget of less than $250 shipped. I'm looking to get the griots, some pads and a polish/paint correction to assist in my problems with the Grand Cherokee. I also woudl like to pick up a couple of grit guards for washing (14.99) and some V7 as I read some awesome stuff on that (18.99). So with that being said I have around $216 to play with. Anyone have any ideas?
To note, I am a newb to the DA world. For the last 10+ years I have always hand applied wax. I am also new to non store bought wax being that I recently placed my first order for some chemical guys wax.
