Question on Megs 105 Ultra Cut

I picked up some of this at a local store..I thought it was for dual action use but on the back of it doesnt say Dual action. Can it still be used with a DA or no?
 
no, the new version is DA compatible.

The old one was for use by rotary and by hand.
 
so I cant use this with my PC..what happens if I did?
 
Ok thanks...I was hoping I didnt buy something that I couldnt use. I figured since the store was new it had the new version.

It will work, you just might have to use more than usual. THe original formula had a VERY short work time and more work time is usually necessary to get optimal results with the DA. It will still perform under the DA though :)
 
ok thanks...I mainly bought it to try and restore the paint on my beater..it has very bad acid rain and deep water spot etching..figure this is the safer route to do then wet sanding.

well let us know how it goes! just expect to follow 105 up with a lighter polish or even a third step.
 
yea i dont expect to this to leave a finish ready for wax..I know I am gonna have to use the swirl remover 2.0 or ultimate compound after to get it ready for wax..I am just hoping it can clean the paint up alot better then it is now...I will take some before and after shots when I start this sometime this week when it stops raining

there is a car store in monroeville mall..I dont think I am allowed to say the name..but its on the 2nd floor..they sell all kinda of goodies..wolfgang, P21s, pinnacle...

Oh ya, I know about it. Just didn't think they sold Megs. That store is great! Its like a mini Autogeek!
 
Sorry to go to the beginning of the thread, how can I get if M105 bottle is old version or new version...In new version bottle it says something about it is DA approved? Thanks!

the newer version has the DA approved picture...

im not sure if it says d.a. approved or not on the bottle but i would grab the old version anyway as a lot people seem to think it has more cut than the new formula.
 
well I used it tonight on my beater..I used a yellow cutting pad and the 105..it made it better but the paint has just way to much acid rain spot etching that I dont think will come out with anything but wet sanding..so i am not doing that so I gotta just live with it. it def made it better and has a better shine its just to damaged. Oh well its only the beater and was some practice on.
