I got a meguiars g110v2 as a DA. I currently do not have spot correction pads and plate and am looking to get some. I have a lake country 3.5" plate in my cart but was wondering what should I get for pads? I usually use the meguiars microfiber pads but they seem to not have a 4 inch pad for them

Help would be appreciated

4" pads are fine, but I prefer a 3" pad for the small stuff.

The combination of 5 1/2" and 3" pads should cover 98% of what you polish.

I use a 2 7/8" BP.

I favor the FLEX 3" foam pads for their flared edge, which gives a margin of safety and gets into tight spaces better than a pad with straight sidewalls.

FLEX PE8 Rotary Foam Pads 1, 2, 3 Inch Diameter

The Meguiar's 3" DAMF pads are a defect killer and in my opinion, a must have.

What machine are you using that stuff on?

Thanks, I have never gone below 4" on a PC, I use my Meg's MF 3" on a GG 3" since foam is pretty much a waste of time on that machine anyway (good for sanding though).

Okay so Ill go with the 3.5inch plate, however, what 4 inch pads should I get?

You mentioned you like microfiber pads--both Optimum and Lake Country make 4" MF pads. If I had to choose between them I'd go with the LC.

Hey Bill,

Here's an article I wrote recently with the names and links to the various pad and backing plate options available on the AG store.

3 inch and 4 inch buffing pad options at Autogeek

I know I took pictures as that's my normal style of writing but it looks like I must have ran out of time that day and just posted the names/sizes and links.

It's still a good reference for products for buffing thin panels.

:)

Update, went with a lake country 4 3.5inch backing plate and lake country 4 inch correction cutting pads. (Orange) If needed ill put m205 or hd adapt on the orange pad for slightly increased cut
