I just did my car with BF black ice about 3 months ago, I want to strip and do a better job of polishing out the fine swirls . Will a clay treatment get the old wax, what is left of it off? BTW, I have been parking outside ( I know, Cardinal Sin) for 2 months

as far as i know, yes. claying and or polishing should abrade it all off

The polishing process will remove any wax. No real need to remove it prior to polishing.

Polishing will remove wax the second the machine touches it. Removing contaminants with clay is way more important!

Some of the Pros disagree

The belief is that the LSP will inhibit the ability of the compound or polish to do its job

One sign they have mentions is that a DA will be "jumpy"

Interested to hear what others have experienced

After 3 months and sitting outside...
Shouldn't be that much Wax left.

So if it was mine...I'd:
-Wash/Dry
-Clay...(per: "Baggie Test")
-"Test Spot"...(hopefully no need to compound)
-Polishing Step(s)
-LSP...
Note: The choice of the new LSP may determine
any need of "panel wipes", or not.
-Enjoy the ride!!
