Ok. I have made my mind after a long consideration and research and I concluded that between the PC 7424XP and the Meguiars Orbital, that the Griots is perhaps the best one out of those two.
I already own a Flex and a regular PC 7424, this particular buffer is a gift for my nephew who is starting to learn the art of detailing.
I wanted something powerful and at the same time user friendly...
The Griots in my mind fits the bill

With that said, I'm going to order the 5" BP as I understand the Griots comes with a 6" BP...
Now the question...
What else does the Griots come with in its box?
For what I've read and was able to put together information, is it true that it comes with a pair of carbon spare brushes?
Thank you in advance

a manual, wrench, and a set of spare brushes...

Spare brushes, wrench for backing removal and a allen key to adjust or remove the handle.

Don't forget what else is in the box...lifetime warranty! I just had to send mine in and they sent me out a replacement no questions asked. 11 business days from the date I shipped it in to the date the new one was on my porch (today!!).

I've had mine for 4 yrs, love it and like said earlier...LIFETIME WARRANTY!

Sent from my SPH-M930 using AG Online

Wow!!!
That's a good thing to know!

If he's going to use the Megs DA MF system, I'd get their 5" backing plate to go with it - W67A I think is the number.

Make sure to throw away the spare brushes. Griots costomer service informed me if you replace the brushes you void the warranty.

Do remember that the GG polisher spins faster than a PC, so when you're dealing with pads or compounds that have speed limitations (such as MF), you may want to go half a speed lower than recommended for a PC.

I'm not sure, right now I think I'm going to stasrt him up with a basic beginners kit...
As he makes progress and learn, then I will get him involved onto some other things, but for now it's just to break him in :xyxthumbs:

Seriously?
I thought that if they provide the brushes is with the expectation that you can replace them, right?
This doesn't make sense, it's actually kind of funny! :)

Does the manual have instructions on brush replacement, or does it not even mention that a replacement set is included?

The manual does not even mention the brushes. GG Customer Service explained they have tried to get the brushes eliminated by their manufacturer, but to no avail. Silly I know, but why even take the chance of voiding your warranty by replacing the brushes when in most cases Griots replaces problem units with a new polisher.

Replacing the brushes, is not a big deal, I've replaced the brushes on my FLEX XC 3401 with no issues, and that's just about it, when it comes down to machine failure.
I own a PC7424 that's been with me for 10 years and brushes and a new cord have been the only two things I've had to replace
At least on the Flex it's a plug and play type deal, no soldering or any special skills needed
