Question on vinyl roof repair

Hello, I have a 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood with a grey vinyl roof. It's in really condition other then a 1/4 inch year/crack near the windshield. Are there any DIY repair kits available or general hardware store products to seal it up? Color matching the grey would be nice but not a necessity. I did a search but couldn't find anything roof specific.
On a side note I would like to change the color of the roof, has anyone spray bombed or plasti dipped a vinyl roof, obviously not a convertible roof. Thanks.

3m makes a vinyl/leather repair kit that I have used inside a car. It holds up well, but I don't know about on the exterior.
I have also painted lots of leather,vinyl,etc. I have never used rattle cans though. It's always been sprayed color matched with a flex additive in a hvlp gun. With proper prep I've always had success.
