I have the Porter Cable 7424. I have a 2005 Chevy truck with the Silver Birch metalic paint. It has a few scratches, but not swirl marks. I have been using some Meguiar's products that I've had awhile, and I'm not happy with the results. I have been reading How to's and about the different products. I'm even more confused on what to get. What I have been using is what I can get local. My wife's car is blue with silver trim and has swirl marks. What products would be good ?

Meguiars ultimate compound is great to use . It is local and is great for beginners. M105 is the professional line it is just harder to work with as it dries quickly

Let me help out a fellow Kentuckian.........Here is what I recommend, If your goal is to remove, scratches, swirl marks and paint defects go with either Menzerna Power Finish followed by Menzerna PO85rd to amp up the paint and provides excellent gloss.
Or go with Megs 105 followed by Megs 205........many paths to follow for what you are wanting to accomplish.
Use the Orange pad, then use white pad and reduce speed, then for the Menz 85rd use gray pad.

I don't think it has swirls, Half the truck has had painting done to repair 3 different Deer collision, about 2 years ago.
