So I went to the Seahawks game yesterday and got to my truck and found some wicked scratches. I was so pissed!

Anyways so I got my flex out and followed the directions from the videos from the web site and used Wolfgang uber compound. Also polished and finishing glaze. It was the first time I have used the tool and was wondering if I should do the 3 step process again? I can still see the scratch but not very noticeable. Can I expect to get rid of the scratches completely if I did it again?

Thanks for you help!

Rule of thumb is if you can catch your nail in a scratch its to deep to polish out

Ok so the results i got is the best I can get?

This maybe a stupid question but can't your fingernail alway pick up a scratch?

Well said, and agree with you DogRescuer, though might I add that if it does catch your nail you will want touch up the area with a clear and color mix, instead of individual layering

Yes a great step for someone with a lot more experience then I am sensing ( no offense meant))

For question one that is correct, though you may want to do a IPA wipe of the area to make sure of your work cause it may seem like it's fixed, though once the compound wears away that sore white line will be back as for your second question the scratch has to be deep enough for your nail to catch meaning the defect has most likely went through the clear coat, and sometime the color coat to the bare metal, however if your nail do not catch then it's likely a small impact to the surface of the clear coat

Ok so where would I find the clear coat mix? What is the process for that?

So how would I get rid of a scratches in the future?

So using the flex 3 step process for scratches isn't right way to get rid of scratches that hit the finger nail?

Darn I thought it came out pretty good considering. Lol

Thanks for you help!

By all means you did a great job, though you would have needed something much more abrasive to level the surrounding areas, thus make it invisible to naked eye as for your questions....Question one you will want to get your color coat, and clear coat, and mix a little together then blot it into the defect
Question two, you first have to diagnosis the defect meaning use nail test to determine whether it's too deep or not if it don't catch nail then you may can use some sort of compound/polish to remove, though if it catches nail it's best to touch up
Lastly the flex 3 step process was a smart move to take, and it did come out super, though it's best if you use an IPA wipe to make sure of your work.....look out for a PM too
