1. is it ok to polish/wax/opti-coat in 80-85F weather? basically a late summer afternoon.
2. can an entire vehicle be machine waxed with one pad?

Thanks,

1. Yes. Just try to keep the car out of direct sunlight.
2. Yes, unless you are using a cleaner wax; in which case you will want to use a few different pads (or at the very least thoroughly clean your single pad) as you work around the vehicle.

Nicholas is right, if you're working on a "neglected" finish with a one-step cleaner/wax then you're going to want to clean your pad often or have extra pads for the project.

Just to add to the info already posted:

-The vehicle's panel-surface(s)' temperature also is a factor, IMO.
[Can you lay your hand upon a panel (the hood, for example) without the 'infernal burning sensation', so to speak]

-The temperatures you described are probably at the upper-end of many car-care products (waxes in this case) recommended heat-range.
(I suspect you'll know quite readily, by the ease of application/removal...if the temp is a little bit too high, or not.)

-Along with the ambient temperature, keep in mind that humidity and air-flow will also be factors to consider.
"Ideal" waxing-conditions, I have often found, are subject to change during a waxing-session.

Just a couple of thoughts I had pertaining to: "temp/wax"

:)
