Questions for a Magnetic Red C6 Corvette

I am going to be polishing my brothers 2005 Magnetic Red Corvette.

He recently (over 3 months ago) had the whole car painted because of some damage while it was parked.

The car has a TON of holograms on it. So, my questions is, would a PCXP7424 and an orange pad with PB SSR1, or PBPWS remove the holograms? Or would I have to be more aggressive? Thanks!

I always start light compounds on my test spot then work my way up the C6 I just did needed a lot of correction and was very hard clear but that could be completely different from the one you are working on. The forums have hammered test spot and less aggressive as necessary into me and it has worked good for me and does not take much time. Let us know what ends up working for you.

Since it's a respray, the usual, known-to-be-tough from the factory CC's: 'correction-instructions'...just may not be as reliable. (the CC may not be as: "baked-on-hard"; but, depending on the painter, may be 'thicker')

It would still be best, IMO, to use the "Test Spot" (TS) method---even with the products you've listed.
I'll start out with something 'fairly-unaggressive'... like M205 on an LC white polishing pad...to perform my "TS"; move on up the line when/if necessary. Meg's UC/LC orange has been a life-saver at times...But that's been on: Corvette-"factory-sprayed/cured CC".

I know least aggressive first, but I wanted to know if the holograms would come out. That's my main concern. Over the weekend I saw him and the car and pointed the holograms to him and he was like "WTF?! You need to come over and help me get this car looking better".

I saw the black c6 you did, and the D300 did wonders on that car, but I don't have that MF system, and wanted to knock his car out this weekend. Thanks for the response!

Thanks Bob! I will also look into this option as well. And yes it is a respray, maybe I'll call the body shop to see how much they usually spray on. And yes, TS and least aggressive first! Thanks again!

-Yes...arm yourself with some of the products/pads being discussed
-Mike Phillips has articles regarding this matter also
-Suggestion...Do your "Test Spot", starting with a mild swirl-remover/polish on an LC polishing pad...
Move on up the aggressiveness scale when/as needed.


BTW: Did you get a chance to talk to the painter?
