Hello from Alaska. I am on my first "real" detail job on my truck. I washed, dried, clay bared, polished. I used all Blackfire products. Do I use Blackfire Crystal coat then the Blackfire BlackIce wax? If so, can I put the wax on right after the crystal coat sealant?
Thanks

Sealants have a cure time that needs to be respected before you top them with a Wax. I do not know the cure time needed for Crystal coat but it's probably around 2 days. Check with the product documentation. If you live in Alaska, it's probably very cold right now ;) Cold slows down the cure time. So take that into account as well.

Can dumb people answer?

If so, I'd recommend waiting about an hour after applying CS to apply BI. Of course, you can put BI down first and top it with CS. In the later case - you may want to wait 6-12 hrs.

Either way, it's hard to screw up if you just slap one on top of the other and call it a day - assuming the surface is prepped correctly.

Thanks for the replies. My question had to do with the Blackfire CS. How soon after can I apply The BlackIce? Unfortunaltly, my experiences with BF CS were HORRIBLE! I researched the product, followed the directions and applied it to clean surface. This stuff cured within seconds of touching the paint. Then it was like smearing glue across the fender. I tried wiping it with a microfiber towel and it just made streaks all over. Pissed off, I just gave up on the CS and finished the truck with BlackIce.

Later, in my research, I found numerous posts on different forums of people having the same issue. I plan to call BF today.

After CS is applied, I would not apply BlackICE any sooner than 12 hours.

When I apply this product, I usually apply it more on the heavy or wet side and this allows the product to stay wet long enough to spread over the panel. Let it set up and within a few minutes you can remove it.

I have a review with video on application of Crystal Seal.
