Got a black wrangler 4 door in January. After the brutal winter spring is finally here.

I had to do touchless car washes as temps were sub 0. Tried to do windows once and the Meguires froze on me !

So I could not do anything other than wash for the last 2 months.

Yesterday I did a waterless using Optimum Opti-Clean.

With the better weather I am planning on getting Meguiars Hyper Wash, Prima Hydro and then Prima Hydro Max to wash and dry as this is a daily driver.

QUESTIONS:

1) Do I need to do an Iron X treatment on a brand new vehicle ?
2) Do I need to Iron X my wheels (rims) ?
3) With a daily driver do I bother worrying about a paint correction if I need one ?
4) Do I need power tools ? I saw a minor scratch on the hood last night. Very small.
5) With the Optimum should I be using damp or dry waffle weaves to dry ?

Just learning this stuff. Windows are a pain ! Using Meguires D120. Still getting some smudges and not getting everything off. Mixed according to directions. And it is not getting the water spots off of my side mirrors.

I bought some DP window product - not at home right now but I think it is DP Glass Restorer. Also I know I have Pinnacle Glass Window Sealant at home.

Been cold so I have only used the Meguiars on the windows so far. Using waffle weave towels.

I see prima products in your line up. I have used them so here is my advice.
ALL PRIMA PRODUCTS....

1. AMIGO to prep the paint.
2. HYDRO MAX as your LSP. This is not to be used after every wash or as a quick detailer. It is a stand alone sealant.
3. WAX AS U DRY to maintain your work.

Megs scratch x should remove the small scratch.

Use the DP glass restorer then seal the glass with the pinnacle sealant since you have them.

I would seal the wheels with DP WHEEL COAT. Then they will clean up with just soap & water.

MEGS HYPER WASH was a good choice. Very good all around soap.

I'm surprised your touchless car washes are still open when it's that cold. Ours all close when temps hit the 20's. I never wash my car when it's below freezing. It looks terrible at times, but I feel it's better than getting ice in places it should be.

1) Probably not a bad idea. You'd be surprised how much rail dust and other foreign material is in the paint of a new car.
2) Again, probably not a bad idea.
3) This is up to you. How much damage did the dealer or the factory do during prep? My philosophy is a daily driver will never be show car ready, but even a little correction work will make it look amazing and keep it that way for a long time.
4) If you want to do any real correction you'll need a dual action polisher. Achieving the same results by hand is VERY difficult. You can find DA's in almost every price range from the Harbor Freight machine to those sold here.
5) Never used their products before.

Good luck.
