I need to find something to use (either buy it or DIY) to easily see and photograph swirls in a car for this evening, so naturally I can't wait for a Brinkmann to ship out to me.

Can anyone recommend something I could use?

I use a few LED drop lights for both mechanical and detailing lighting. They're cheap, and work great.

Halogen work light from Lowe's or Home Depot. I bought a 1000w light for $36 and 6 replacement bulbs for another $16 not too long ago.

I have one, but it's way too hot working with halogens, even in winter .. it produces a lot of heat. Go Brinkmann instead, you won't regret it.
